For the first time in years, I am in love with someone who loves me on Valentine's Day!

I wondered how many of my fellow forum users were in that position?

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Disclaimer: before anyone points out that Valentine's Day is a marketing gimmick thought up by the greeting card companies, florists and gift retailers to get more coin out of us, I KNOW! I'm just caught up in the moment! :hihi:

I'm not in love and I'm as happy as I've ever been. I like single life!

Yeah I suppose I'll go along with ya Kristian :P

St Valentine was actually a Roman Priest who carried out in secret marriages between young lovers in the 3rd Century AD.
You see the ruler of Rome at the time thought single men made better soldiers on the field and outlawed marriages and courtship of any kind between young men and women.

St Valentine thought this wasn't right and performed marriages in secret to those who wanted it.
He was ordered to be put to death for this injustice to the Emporer (sp) at the time.

Sorry for the history lesson folks, just thought I'd share the REAL reason of Valentines day.

Although I agree it has been taken over by corporate greed to cash in these days :D

For the third year in a row I'm counting myself extremely fortunate because I'm in love on February 14th with my absolutely perfect girlfriend who I absolutely adore. Forget the cards and choccies, I'm cooking my girlfriend a three course meal this evening as my labour of love.

Starter
Roasted Sweet Peppers and Pomodorino Tomatoes with Red Chilli

Main Course
Baked Pilaf with Champagne Chicken, Chilli and Lime

Dessert
Poached William Pears with Caramelised Blueberries

To follow
Illy Espresso et Richart Mon Amour chocolat (go on, just a few...)

Vin:
2001 Medoc, Chateau Tour Prignac
Krug Grande Cuvée
Armagnac XO, Chateau du Tariquet

I didn't mean I had been single for years, or that I haven't been in love; simply that I always seemed to be single in February, or at the start or end of a reationship!

Yep, our 3rd Valentines Day together and I'm glad we are.
Just waiting for him to come home after a late shift.
We made our cards for each other this year, all sweet and cuddly and I have to say I'm most impressed with his. I just hope he likes the 2 I made at work today.
( I love my job too :) )

By the way, instead of "Vin" I've always found Tizer goes down a treat.
