View Full Version : Woodseats Fisheries - Has It Changed Hands?

My girlfriend popped into Woodseats on the way back from town last week and bought me some fish and chips from Woodseats Fisheries - the little popular one on the right-hand side driving towards Meadowhead - which is my favourite.

She said all the staff had changed over and the guy in charge was different... I didn't know whether she was having me on or not. Is anyone aware of whether they've changed hands recently? Like in the last month or so? Something I'm very wary about - believing (as I do) that they're the only good fish and chips in and around the S8 area - and that's after 8 years of living here.

The reason I'm concerned is because - once she'd told me that - I started to think it wasn't as good as usual. I admit this is possibly a bit of unhealthy paranoia... but I can't go back to having stuff from the red one, or the one in Meadowhead or that new one by the Spar at the start of Abbey Lane... I can't stand all those. Fussy - yes... obstinate - unfortunately.

If its the one oposite williams the one that the locals call fergies, then the answer is no but yes:loopy::loopy:

The shop is still in the samer owner ship but the owners brother now has more to do with running it you will still see the origional "man behind the counter" in there occasionaly

I hope the same quaility remains, because my paranoia told me it was just a tad sub-par the other day... might be New Year blues, but if I go again and it's not back to normal I know that I'll start looking elsewhere which would be a shame, for me.

Although we love the fish and chips from here, on three occasions they have given us a short order, twice a fish short and once a fishcake, by the time we realised this we were home and couldn't face the journey back to complain. This has also happened to my sister in law, so is it just us or has it happened to anyone else?
