View Full Version : Meadowhall primark - Different prices to Primark in town.
Having seen a jacket in the primark in sheffield and not having the time to wait to be served, I have been to the prinmark at Meadowhall. The same jacket is twice the price (even though it is still reduced) as it costs in town. When I asked why I was told that Primarks work as different stores. IE not the same company and can reduce items at different levels.
I explained that as I wanted the coat but was not willing to play double the price I would go back to town and buy the other things I also wanted from there. The answer was .........Well that is how we work. What a rip off.
So be aware check all the prices and then go to town and buy cheeper.
Or just wait in the queue and be patient in the first place. Lot's of shops have different pricing policies depending on where they are located. I imagine the rents for a store in Meadowhall are far more than they are for the City Centre.

i would e-mail them and ask if this is the case.
Primark is a cheep shop at best of times Perhaps not a shop for POSH Meadowhall and its high rents. Not known of another shop in Meadowhall doing this. Maybe they are going to set a trend. All I am saying is Be Aware of the price difference in Meadowhalls Primark.
04jessops 05-01-2008, 16:08 Sorry, but when I read the title I presumed that everything was in order. :hihi:
EDIT: Now my post makes now sense because the title's been changed.
muckynees 05-01-2008, 16:19 You will probably find that most stores are the same, the meadowhall ones are usually always dearer than the ones in town etc eg jonathan james etc. Fortunately poundland prices are the same :)
Never known of it before but if this is right I will be shopping in town where it is cheeper.
I will not look at things just before I have to get a bus home to pick up children from nursery, therefor leaving myself plenty of time to wait in queues
I'm never ever going back into Primark in meadowhall again after meeting 'Daryll' (I think that was his name) the store manager

Please, elaborate!!! :D:D
I bought some tops for £1 each in sale at Doncaster store but they were all full price in Sheffield, this was last year in Sept.
S8 Blade 05-01-2008, 18:48 Maybe they're franchised - in which case they can make their own prices, they can also order their own product in, not necessarily the same as other stores.
Tiggerchick 05-01-2008, 19:11 It's the same with a lot of stores. I've bought sale items in Debenhams in Meadowhall then seen them in the one in town at twice the price. It's not always Meadowhall stores that are more expensive.
i went to Evans in Boston and all their sale stuff was buy one get one free . i had a right birthday , when i got back home i told my friend who went rushing to crystal peaks and surprise surprise the exact same thing , sale items were still at the same price.
gina2007 05-01-2008, 20:05 I think the primark thing is, when they reduce, they just write in red pen on the labels, so I think it's the store manager/dept manager that decides the reductions rather than the shop as a whole company. If that makes sense...
Fortunately poundland prices are the same :)
TwoPoundland doesn't have the same ring does it :hihi:
fred_notdead 05-01-2008, 22:52 Even supermarkets operate like this, but you don't notice as much. They often have a 3 pricing structure depending upon store location and demographics.

It's not uncommon with many stores, fashion, health, supermarkets, restaurants etc
dane-katie 06-01-2008, 12:57 When i lived in manchester if you when to town centre all prices would be at least 10% cheaper than if you went to the Trafford centre i pursum it would be the same with Meadow Hall

He's an absolute *** (http://www.naturephoto-cz.com/photos/birds/great-tit-3066.jpg). I went with my girlfriend into the store she bought a top (after just managing to find one that wasn't covered in muck or screwed up onthe floor) and just as we'd left meadowhall she noticed a big rip in the top so we took it back straight away and asked for an exchange. But this guy just wouldn't listen to reasoning he claimed she'd ripped it herself in the 5 minutes she'd been out of the store and would not exchange it. He was very rude and everyone in the shop was embarassed for him there was even an assistant behind his back rolling her eyes as he went on and mouthing 'sorry'. Not going back to that primark
Store manager aint called daryll ..or owt like that.
Sure  this was almost a year ago, very camp bloke think he was bald or had a shaved head.
Primark in Meadowhall only been open 4 months or so ..... as for Daryll, no managers in this area by that name .A year ago you must have been in another shop.
happy New Year
