Just downloaded this today and I have to say it is a beautiful selection of songs (only 4 of them) but for me the best, and probably one of their finest moments, has to be the one called "sunkissed".
Its only available on itunes but some is available as a torrent.

I've just listened to it and Sunkissed is the only one that really stands out imo.
The first one, Rose March, is far too overproduced and would have been much better as the simple acoustic song it was on the US tour. Again, Again, Again doesn't really do anything for me and is again overproduced. Pox isn't bad but I think could have done without the drums.
Sunkissed is the simplest of the four songs and all the better for it. Don't know if I'd go so far to call it one of their finest moments though. I can think of at least a dozen other acoustic songs that Billy Corgan has written that I'd consider to be superior.

Going to see them in Manchester in Feb, got the greatest hits but they're not a band I know much about at all!

I'm going to see them in Manchester as well. Received my tickets yesterday which made me very happy ;)
If you've only heard the songs on Rotten Apples then you're in for a treat when they play Geek USA or Silverf**k live.

not ordered any tickets yet but hopefully it won't be sold out before I get round to it.
Been listening to the 4 songs again today and I must agree with you,he HAS written better songs but it always seems to be the "mellow" songs which I find I have the most time for.For instance the acoustic ones on pisces iscariot ("whir" and "obscured") for example are fascinating.I just wished they would have released some of the BETTER songs looking back.I know they're not in it really for the hits but I think they would have got more recognition back in their day but they were beaten to it by that nirvana group.

They'd of got no attention without Nirvana. Their first album was rubbish and it took the success of Nevermind to kick him up the arse and write Siamese Dream.
Seperately, I don't like comebacks where only one of the band return. It's really Billy Corgan resurecting his ego.

Nirvana were bandwagon jumpers as well. In fact, they ripped off the riffs to all their big songs.

A bit harsh to call them bandwagon jumpers. Corgan acknowledges that he lifted a few riffs from Cheap Trick (particularly for Cherub Rock) and that he felt pressured to deliver after Nirvanas eventual success but the Pumpkins were hardly going along with the grunge flow even if the music industry were lazy enough to label them as such. They covered a number of musical styles but grunge wasn't one of them.

Harsh but fair. They hardly invented the wheel did they. I do like them, by the way.

The ONLY thing to let the pumpkins down is billy's voice, although it does work very well with some of his songs but musically they are far superior and diverse than any of thier rivals.including nirvana
