I have just got a new samsung 19inch tv/monitor . and my pc keeps restarting all the time. mostly when i play media. it used to happen with my normal monitor but not as much. i have all the drivers for the samsung tv.

i am wanting to buy a new processor and a new graphics card the card i have now it geforce 7800gt.

will any of this help me.

how old is computer?
what operating system.
is it just media player that causes it?

It is a custom made machine about 1 year old

amd 3500+ athlon
1gb ram ddr2
nvidia geforce 7800gt graphics card.

it restarts when i play any media on all software. some times it can go a while.

Check the fans on the processor and graphics card. Sounds like one or the other is gunged up and it's getting too hot.

I concur, it definitely sounds like one of the processors are getting a bit warm, when it boots up after crashing does the boot up display the CPU temperature? Check what that is but you must do it straight after or else it will cool down.
