View Full Version : The most reliable bus in Sheffield

Seeing as there seems to be a very negative vibe on the bus threads at the moment, I thought it would be nice to turn it round and celebrate the best bus services rather than slag off the bad ones.

I will start with TM Travel route 293. My bus home from work always leaves Arundel Gate on time (except for once) and always gets me home at EXACTLY the same time every day.
When I have got it on a Saturday is has always turned up, and only been late once.

So thats late twice, and cancelled never!

Is it the most reliable bus in Sheffield, or is there others?

95's are a mishmash of a Bus.

Its actually 4 routes so technically one is every 20/30mins, the others every hour. But staggered so it "seems" like there are lots of them

I agree. I used to catch the 95 and it was alright for me as I used to get off at the Co-op near the crossroads, so I could catch any 95, before they turned off and went their seperate ways. It's a bit of tough luck for those living at Birley, or "meadowgate lane" who had a bus like every 30/60 minutes.

The best bus is the little blue one that sits outside my home, it always gets me there on time, I've always got a seat and I don't have to listen to children screaming/couples fighting if I choose not to!

52 probably but you often tend to wait 20 mins in the morning and find 4 in a row (20/4 = 5)

The Stagecoach M17 is probably one to add to the list of buses that are really punctual and reliable, however that just trundles round the estates between Dore and Jordanthorpe.

52 or the 80's are very reliable. Still we should have more on a Sunday

Ha, ha, ha! You clearly never have to catch a 95! IN THEORY - they're every 10 minutes - in practice, you can easily wait for half an hour or longer, then 2 or 3 turn up at once, together with a 123!

By late afternoon, this situation appears to be inevitable - perhaps after 3pm 95 drivers are scared to drive around on their own or something, and need the safety of a convoy!

There is always a constant stream of 52s, however!
