I'm new to Sheffield Forum, so I hope I've posted it to the correct section!!.....

Does anyone have either a black & white or colour picture of Chippingham Street in Attercliffe that they could email to me?

I'm researching the family tree of a close friend who lived for most of her life on Chippingham Street before they put the SuperTram through what was once her front-room!!

The section of Chippingham Street that we're interested in is the section between Shortridge Street and Shirland Lane - i.e the bit behind John Banner on Attercliffe Road.

There's a picture of Chippingham House on www.picturesheffield.co.uk but I think that is at the corner of Attercliffe Rd and Chippingham St. Probably not what you want but not far away.

Yes, I've already got that particular picture. It was taken in the early 1900's from Attercliffe Road, looking down Shortridge St towards Chippingham St,which you can see in the distance.

What I'd like is a pictrure of what it looked like before the houses were demolished in the early months of 1980.

I'm sure there must be pictures out there, but they're probably sitting in tin boxes and old photo albums in dusty attics.

i too would like a pic of chippingham street taken from around or the canal bank.as i was born at 144 chippingham in 1968.i wrote a book about being a kid and what i got upto around the area.took my own pics about 10 years ago.althouhg i did research some old ones from the library.never got the book published would have to type it up on word and then seek a publisher
