i've got a goodmans car cd player,the problem is it has always jumped on generally bumpy roads.
i've secured it properly,even cushioned it but it still persists!!!
any advice appreciated....ta

Is it worse on copied cds?
I have a standard ford one in my car, and that jumps sometimes, but not very often.

Check that your cds are clean and if you are using copied ones, don't use ones that are written at fast speeds, as I have found the error correction is not as sure, as ones which are written at single or dual speed.

As a general observation, to anyone who's interested, If a home written cd plays in a hifi, that doesn't mean it'll play in a portable player. If you write them at slow speeds they play in everything.

Also check the user manual and see how much anti-shock protection it has built in. Most CD players have 10-15 seconds.
