I've been in contact with Wannadoo to get my MAC Numbers but I'm still waiting for them.
But during the holidays they E-Mailed a renewal contract which would appear to bind Broad Band users to having to pay Eighteen months of the contract repayment if they wanted to leave them.
Am I correct in my understanding on this?

It's perfectly possible they've upped it to an 18month contract... probably in return for a slightly lower per-month price or something.
The ISP giveth, and taketh away.
.
I tried to leave Orange a while back in favour of £9.99 a month for 8 Mb on Plusnet. They persuaded me to stay for a reduced rate of £12.99 a month free for 3 months, this was last October.

Sounds like they are trying to scare you.
Ring them up and tell them you are not interested and that you want your MAC code. If they try anymore crap tell them you will report them to OFCOM. Contract law requires offer and acceptance, if you dont accept the new contract (and presumably you havent as it was unsolicited) it is unenforceable.

Thank you. I've decided to write and use a registered post delivery in the event of the letter getting lost in the post.
I'll keep you informed. All that I wish to do is try another provider. If they are not as good as Wannadoo, ( Orange ).
I can always go back.
