View Full Version : Java error/ Java void problems
Help, anyone, getting very fed up. I used to be able to get virtual tours on my pc and view larger pics etc, but now it just says Java void and error on page. I've had my pc into the shop and no bugs were found only 4 of the spyware, which have been removed. I've un-installed Java and re-installed latest version, all to no avail. The PC shop doesn't know what else to suggest. They told me to stop pop up blocker just to try and to put internet security settings to medium which I've done and still no joy. Oh and a file is missing called Msjava.dll which is advice I was given from microsoft to type in the run box.
Have you installed the Sun Java or the Microsoft VM ?
try this for the microsoft version
http://66.195.243.138/dnld/msjavx86.exe
good luck
Thanks Yammy, for the help offered. I downloaded that file, much to my hubby's disapproval, saying that could be a bug! and I still can't view virtual tours, it's very weird. I don't soppose it's the end of the world, just frustrating that I can't do things I used to be able to get. Thanks anyway.
I recently had this problem (or one like it) after upgrading to the latest version of the Sun Virtual Machine.
I backed out the upgrade and that resolved the problems.
Can you use this site's Chat Room facility?

evildrneil 14-02-2005, 18:37 Java is the root of all evil!!!
Do you know which version you currently have installed? And wether you have the SDK or just the RTE?
The version installed says J2SE Environment 5.0 Update 1. It's Sun systems java.
evildrneil 15-02-2005, 16:10 You could try downloading J2SE 1.4.2 from here (http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads/). If its a new version of J2SE it could very well be stuffed full of bugs!
J2SE 5 is the latest version of standard edition java which ships with a whole bunch of new functionality (and is virtually bug free) however most software (esp. internet based stuff) is written to comply with version 1.4.2_x.
Download the 1.4.2 latest JRE from java.sun.com for general compliance.
If you can't find a MS based java dll (and a prog is looking for it) then the prog you are trying to run is specific to MS not the java spec (MS has its own non-compliant java spec).
Try installing FireFox or Opera (free, non MS specific browsers) and following their help for integrating with the sun jre.
Thanks everyone, I've tried the lot, still can't get virtual on site I want. I can view some virtual tours on some pages though. If anyone fancies trying this site, I would be interested to know if they can view the virtual tours.
www.e-noosa.com.au I also got the mozilla firefox it suggests, but still get java void and error.

worked straight away for me; i'm running version 1.4.2_06-b03 of the JDK.
PS - what's the exchange rate?
alchresearch 16-02-2005, 13:11 The Java seems to be doing pop-up windows. Do you have a pop-up blocker installed?

Well now I'm jelous Cyclone that I can't see these tours!!! The exchange rate is about 2,401Aus dollars to £1000 at the moment.
Yes I have a pop up blocker, but have tried to turn it off and to allow the web site in the pop up settings and still can't see it, bloomin thing!!!!:(
Yippee I'm so happy, I can view and tour to my hearts content. It seems it may have been the fact I had the silly Websearch and smiley central task bar that stopped me from viewing the pages, photos I wanted to see. Got this sorted from another thread (printer icon missing). So it seems thanks goes to Vidster for this too.
