Now Christmas knitting is out of the way and we are nearly back to normality how about having a knitalong? I was thinking maybe accessories (being that its getting a bit nippy) possibly hats (I have a couple planned already), gloves (Im sure there are more than just me and Wheezy wanting to give it ago), scarves or even stash busting socks - what do we think? Maybe with February start date - or would you prefer something sooner?

That sounds good to me, accessories would be a nice idea.

I am going to try to knit as much from the stash as possible for the next couple of months, though the new year sales have not helped stash reduction! February would be good for me, gives me a chance to finish off as much as I can in the next month before starting another project.

Sounds wonderful to me. Accessories could include cushion covers and afghans so I would be happy. Do you think teddy bears could count as I do need to knit two of them?

Don't see why not, my ted was definately an accessory when I was little. I was never seen without him!

Sounds like a good idea Lisa. I'd be up for a glove knitalong in February

Well if there are a couple of us trying gloves then we can help each other through the difficult bits:D

Would people prefer it to be a vague accessories title or something specific like gloves?

I'm thinking of doing the Tudora (http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter07/PATTtudora.html) from Knitty as it looks like it would keep your neck warm. If it's a general knitalong, I could wait and knit it during the knitalong.

I'll be happy with either gloves or general accessories. It just has to be made from the stash.

OK then what about if we aim for a stash-busting accessory knitalong then (no yarn buying for the project allowed):D Does February still sound OK or do people want to start earlier?

That knocks Gretel off the list for this one then as I am going to need to see JillM about some baby llama for that one;)

That would be great and it will give me the incentive to finsih the teddies that I promised to knit a year ago.

Er...given that my stash is a shop full can I use some of that? I promise not to pay retail price for it if you don't tell my accountant:D
I may use some Baby Llama though.....

Stash busting accessories sounds good to me - I'm sure I've got enough cascade 220 for a (small!) bag around here somewhere :D Unless there's a time limit for it to be in your stash - if I buy something on Sunday or in the sales it would be in my stash by February!!

I wouldn't mind doing some kind of a teddy or something to use up the tons of DK acrylic I have that I mistakenly bought when I first started knitting.

Thank you, thank you for outing yourself and I hereby out myself too! I have DK acrylic in the garage and a little in the bedroom - perhaps one day it will be used again and hold it's head proud in our knitting society :D Just go to DK knitting rules slash no it doesn't slash yes it does, I have loads to use up dot co dot uk :hihi:

LisaH, I've a few other projects on at the minute so a February start date suits me best. If you start before then, I'll just join in in February if that's ok?

Never mind (Im sure I will be buying Sulka from you when I have identified a project as I know you have that in paprika:D) - I just visited Get Knitted and noticed they had it (sorry) - some of the Knitpicks harmony dpns jumped in the basket too:o

You can still use shop stash to join in though - just make sure we have pictures:D
