Hi,
Just joined the site as I'm researching my mum's family called Dolphin who used to live at 222 Bright street, that,s where they are registered on Marriage certificate? Does anyone know of them, they were Wilfred & Edith (Nee Mills) & my G Grandad was called William? They got married in Aug 1930 at St Bartholomews at Carbrook.
Any info would be much appreciated?:)
"Dolphin" is an unusual surname.
Colin Dolphin was the manager of Batemoor Ambulance Station in the late 1970's early 1980's.
If he was related to the Bright Street family that might give you something to go on.
Good luck.
Hi.
Could this be Williams burial at Tinsley Park Cemetery.
DOLPHIN Alfred 26 Nov 1947 aged64 labourer 65 Coleford Rd Sheffield Grave #K160c
DOLPHIN Alice Amelia 18 May 1937 72 wife of William]20 Radcliffe St Tinsley, Sheffield QC150c
DOLPHIN Edith Annie 18 Apr 1961 57 housewife 1-3 Newhall Rd / killed at E.S Sheffield H75c
DOLPHIN Sarah 2 Feb 1959 75 widow 65 Coleford Rd Sheffield K160c
DOLPHIN William 15 May 1940 aged76, roller, 112 Jenkin Rd Sheffield QC150c
If Wilfred was 22/23 on the marriage certificate this looks like his birth registration.
Births Jun 1907 DOLPHIN Wilfred Rotherham 9c 764

Tinsley was in the Rotherham registration district...sending for the certificate will confim his parents names and his mothers maiden name, which will enable you to look for a marriage certifictate for his parents.
