hi there

i know i am not from sheffield (killamarsh actually) but i am wondering if anyone can help me , i am researching bombs that fell in and around sheffield . i have a vivid memory of 1000 pound bomb which fell in what is now the rother valley and didnt explode , during the excavations for coal the bomb was uncovered and was in too bad a state to be moved that it had to be exploded where it was. i am wondering if anybody remembers this and can put me in touch with any one that might have some info and or pictures. i know that pictures were taken but i seem to have exhausted all avenues to find them. any help would be thankfully recieved

thanks bulfrodo

p.s this was about 1979 to 1986

I posted a thread on this subject a couple of weeks ago, but im not sure any of it will help.
I was also trying to find a news cutting or something but no joy, yet.

Hope it helps your search.
