We currently have 2 cats, Charlie is 1 and a half and the most chilled out tom cat ever, hes fantastic, and we have Poppy who is just one.
Now the problem is with Poppy in that she is just still so crazy and seems to show no sign of slowing down. She hardly ever sleeps, all she seems to do is run around the house like a headless chicken. She chews wires, chews anything and everything, climbs the walls, constantly gets on the sides, will shread or eat anything left on the side, begs and cries for food 24/7 even when there is food out (already checked she doesnt have worms). Wakes us up at 5 every morning wanting feeding (even if you leave her food out before you go to bed), and if you shut the bedroom door, she scratches that much she is wearing the door away and pulling the carpet up. She uses the cat flap and will go out to do her business but comes straight back in, if she does ever go out she runs in front of cars and wont move, you have to physically get out and move her. Ive tried locking the cat flap so she has to stay out while we are at work to burn some energy off, but she cries that much to come back in that the neigbours complain and it isnt fair on Charlie as he loves coming and going via the cat flap.
Now I know that kittens are like this and it is to be expected, but surely she should be calming down by now. Ive tried changing her food. Have also tried the water spray but this doesnt seem to work.
I love the little thing to bits and would never get rid of her but we are having a baby in the new year and need advice on getting her to calm down a bit.
