When I change my car next year I am hoping to get a medium sized MPV. I want one about 3 years old as I have to buy it myself (not on mobility).

I have found Vauxhall Meriva and other similar vehicles easier to get out of compared to a saloon or normal hatch. Its the height that seems to make it comfy and easy to get out of. I should mention at this point that my disability is a chronic back problem and fibromyalgia. As well as emerging from the drivers seat, things that cause me problems are leaning over into the back to secure small children, and also I dont twist very well to look over my shoulder if reversing or manoevering (sp!).

Has anyone found a particular MPV useful and reliable enough to recommend?

Ive posted on the general forum, but I would also like to hear from people who might have similar problems to me.

Thank you!

I've got an automatic Renault kangoo, and find it much easier to get in and out of as it's a bit higher than normal hatchbacks etc.
I've had reverse parking sensors fitted by Renault, which help greatly, saves a lot of neck and back twisting. well worth the cost.
I am very happy with it and would recommend it, not many around Sheffield for sale privately, I had to go to Available Car in Castle Donnigton. but there are some ex mobility Kangoos around at good prices.

I've bought some fold up ramps to get mobility scooter or powerchair in the boot.

I have Fibromyalgia and we own a 2.0 Citroen Picasso HDI Exclusive, it is easy to drive (apart rom the annoying quarterlight problem) and wonderful for space and getting in and out of.

We are in the process of selling it at the moment though cos of fuel prices and it no longer being economical to use for the business
