Looks like its just a big codec pack, and the prog will install them all at once (divx, mpeg, xvid etc..)

as for editing video with it, no. What it will do tho is probably let you import media into your regular editing app that you may not have been able to edit before.

As for what to do with it, just install it and see!

I did install it and then just looked blankly at it and hoped I'd be able to find some instructions. The instructions it links me to are in a different language. All I want to do is edit a video that is on cd, but I couldn't do it on othet programs I tried because my computer hasn't got a sound card, at least that's what other people told me.

Confused!!!

CODECs (CO(mpressor)DEC(ompressor)s) are simply different compression techniques/algorythms used for (mainly) computer/digital use.

What SW are you using to edit your video with?

If not HexPee, then you'll need a third party app to edit the video file with.

There are a few freeware video editing apps around. One of the best was ABCcideoRoll, which (though it was free) required online registration - however, the domain that it connects to has since expired, so you can't register it:(

Another free one is Zwei-Stein Video Editor 3.01 (http://www.thugsatbay.com/) which is very good.

Wow! That sounds so complicated to my simple self! I called our IT guy, who has since gone one holiday and he told me to download it and that was it. That was when I got lost. Thankyou for all your help, will try that other one instead.
