This is really just a question for JoePritchard but maybe someone has had an update that i have missed.

It is becoming more and more apparent (to me anyway) that we need some sort of thread (possibly sticky) or even a sub forum in the 'Ask An Expert' section to help people with their computer problems and general advice on computer matters.

I was wondering if Joe's idea of a help thread was any further along the road to appearing any time soon?.

t020 started an excellent thread about Windows tips but that thread might not be the right place to put a detailed post about spyware removal etc..

What is the situation and what are other forumer's views on this?.

vidster....

At teh moment it's sitting on the back burner until I get somewhere to put the thread and the follow ups where it will be constantly available.

Apologies for the delay!

Also, easiest way to ensure I see a message that refers to me is to PM me or mail me!

Any kind of dedicated help thread would be very useful.

Although answers can be found somewhere on the web, it can be much faffing and problematic.

If I encounter pc problems, it is usually a software issue.

Not sure that would apply to one person, more likely a variety of people who use different programs.

A good idea all the same.

OK.....

this weekend I'm going to set up a wikipaedia and post a link to it.

Then we can start building it!
