A recent purchase was a deep-fat frier. It recommended vegetable oil, which is rapeseed oil, but that makes chips taste awful. Any suggestions, please?

Try sunflower oil instead.

Corn oil or sunflower oil is o.k. That is what we alway's used when frying chip's and they tasted lovely. YUM. YUM. :) :lol: :D

Just filled up with Corn Oil. Stir-fry and chips for tea, will report back with the verdicts.
