My daughter has a Pico MP989 laptop and she has dropped it. The screen is smashed and it keeps saying that we have to insert some disk or other to start it up?

With no knowledge of whats what, please can someone offer me some advice.

Will it be expensive to get repaired??
Whats the best place to take it to?
Is it repairable?

Any advice will be very welcome, as just like when i take my car to the garage i always feel like im being ripped off!

HELP?

Thanks.

It would probably be more cost effective to get a new laptop than repairing her current one.

If the hard drive (the bit which stores all her stuff) still works, it would be a simple case of transferring it to the new laptop so she doesn't lose anything.

Laptop monitors can be tricky, however! you can always ask a kind forumer to rebuild your laptop operating system (however you will lose all the data on there)

Thanks.

Still not really sure?

It is asking for the Windows start up CD or something?
does that make a differnce?

Will it cos a fortune to have the screen replaced?
Is that possible.

It did work gine afterwards but i think she made it worse trying to make it better if you know what i mean.

Where is the best place to take it, as paying out for another laptop is just not an option.

Thanks
