View Full Version : Blades vs Blackpool
Robbie Loving 26-12-2007, 16:51 Well...............
What can be said about todays "performance".
If anyone can give me a person who put a performance in today then I'll be very surprised.
Lets face it, it was never a penalty. I don't think it was a free kick for their goal. I don't think the referee had a good day at the office all in all. But at least it was the same both ways.
Beattie missed a penalty, Armstrong missed a free header and Hendrie smashed a shot wide which was easier to score. Atrocity? Yes very much so.
Blackpool didn't look like scoring, so Lucketti thought he would **** about in defence and lose the ball. Then give away a free kick that went in to the middle of the net, where Kenny was we shall never know.
The crowd ****** me off more than anyone today though, ****ing idiots on the Kop who clearly know NOTHING about football was booing when we took off Sharp, who ran a lot but did absolutely nothing of note. The crowd go on to sing "you don't know what you're doing" and "we want Bryan Robson out" only 50 minutes after they was singing "Robson give us a wave"..... retarded ****ing morons like this remind me why I prefer away games to home.
Back to the game. We take Beattie off, I don't know why but I'm assuming he has an injury and bring on Hulse when clearly Stead should have been put on. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Hulse, but why he comes on before a fully fit Stead I shall never know.
Robson is driving this club further and further downhill. The signing of Speed is fantastic, but in my opinion it is far too little far too late.
Apologies for the swearing, and anybody who reads my posts on a whole know I barely ever swear in them, but certain occasions require certain obscenities.
steveb2007 26-12-2007, 17:22 We should be beating poor sides like Blackpool, especially against 10 men for 80-odd minutes.I think Robson is a poor manager and we won't go up,mid table at best.
Although Gary Speed is a quality player,is a 38 year old the answer? We need more pace in the side, not less.
I dunno, the atmosphere is quiet now, there's no passion etc...
Agent Gypo 26-12-2007, 17:58 I thought we would have been able to take 4 points from our 2 home games. However, Blackpool had other ideas.
While we may still be just 2 wins from the playoff positions, the way we're playing at the moment is far from encouraging, with problems we had at the start of the season still evident now.
Neil Warnock's Palace (unbeaten in 11 and up to 9th) up next followed by Wolves away... I'm not optimistic.
Well...............

kop were singing to hulse for a wave not captain plastic!!
half time rumour is that beattie done deal and off to middlesborough!!
match was the usual tripe that we have come used to since robson took charge, the sooner he goes the better, while there's still chance of salvaging something from this season..
predict a caretaker manager in for the bolton match!!! (hopefully!!!)
I see we have another football manager who doesn't know the rules of football.
Blackpool (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/7157294.stm) manager claims that it shouldn't have been a penalty/sending off because the defender "didn't make too much contact."
Someone should take him aside and explain to him that there's no rule against making too much contact; only a rule that forbids making ANY contact. You play the ball, not the striker.
Smithy1889 27-12-2007, 08:38 Come on Robbie, Billy Sharp created 3 chances, The only three chances we created yesterday.
also, We should not be singing robson out because he should never have been given the job in the first place.
If i went onto the building site on my next shift and stood there with my arms folded drinking a bottle of water "what must of vodka inside it" I would be sacked!!!
This guy is on around 15 grand a week and is taking us nowhere. We have the best squad in that league we should be top 6 Bare Minimum!!!!!
Yesterday when we was walking out of the ground on the south stand we was giving mccabe grief for the performance and singing robson out etc. And he walked other to one of the fans and told him to have patience we will come good!!!! We have suffered this ****e for 6 months and enough is enough. This isnt the sheffield united i have been watching for the last 15 years!!!
Beattie wa boarding the 4:15 train to Middelsbrough thats why he couldnt play the second half!! Cant blame the guy tho, If i had the chance to leave this side i would as well
Best thing is Mr Warnock is visiting us on Saturday
"Neil Warnocks Red and White army S.U.F.C"
Rocklegend 27-12-2007, 08:50 Thought Sharp had quite a good game as did Killa;as for the rest, they couldn't even stand up half the time .As for Robson,he still had 11 men back for a corner against 10 men so when the ball was cleared there was no one to receive it.:rant:Pathetic.Maybe Gary Speed could become caretaker manager in time for the Bolton match-after all,he does want a coaching role...:D.Come 'n' fill yer boots N.W.

So how do you actually make contact with the ball without making contact with the opponent with every tackle made? At least 95% of tackles involve making some form of contact with the player as well as the ball.
I thought Sharp was unlucky to be taken off. Gillespie had yet another poor game-why is he still in the team when Sharp is more creative than him.
Beattie has damaged his knee ligaments so he won't be going anywhere, the penalty was poor, but how many time's has 10 frustrated a team of 11,if we lose on saturday then McCabe has to sort out the manager,he has had 6 months & we are getting worse not better, nearly £10m of strikers were on the pitch today & we score 1 in open play, the players do not want to play for Robson for whatever reason, although we are still 6 points from the playoffs it might as well be 60 points ,I cannot see us climbing up into the top 6 unless we can go on a good run.
Robbie Loving 27-12-2007, 10:21 Stupid double posting......
Robbie Loving 27-12-2007, 10:24 Come on Robbie, Billy Sharp created 3 chances, The only three chances we created yesterday.
He created Beatties goal granted. He got one other good ball in as well, thats all I can remember. A strikers job is to be scoring goals, I know part of it is also for assisting, but a striker of which Billy Sharp is shoudn't be in positions to be crossing.
This isnt the sheffield united i have been watching for the last 15 years!!!
Maybe the last 8 years, but think pre-warnock ie Heath and this is as bad as that.
Robbie Loving 27-12-2007, 10:25 kop were singing to hulse for a wave not captain plastic!!
My mistake.
half time rumour is that beattie done deal and off to middlesborough!!
Knee ligament damage, he is defo out for sat, and prob for quite a bit longer.
I have just been looking at the paper & Keane said that this time last year Sunderland were not even in the top 10,so I just hope we can go on a good run when Speed & any other players arrive.Keep the faith.

heyesey can you remember the first match of the season last year when liverpool got that penalty against the blades?
it was proved that no contact was made , when interviewed about it the ref siad he gave the pen "because the intent was there" ,thats the first and only time i've ever known a pen been given for not fouling anyone.
