I'm familiar with most of sheffield, including the south east, which in my view would include halfway, mosborough and woodhouse.
But I've never heard of any of those areas.
Which roads are you talking about?

I've never heard of any of these places, and I know Sheffield quite well

I think they lie Woodhouse up to Hackenthorpe, from the Woodhouse side of Nomanton Springs.

Depending on where you commute to if you have travelled along birley moor road then you have skirted the 3 estates mentioned, Scowerdons runs off silkstone road & dyke vale road, if you catch the tram you will see the newsteads just below thornbridge road running down to birley moor just after the top of occupation lane, and the weaklands is on the left side of birley moor road after occupation lane heading out of town.

They're mostly the Pigeon box houses built on the outskirts of Hackenthorpe in the '60's and early '70s. The names are the roadways e.g. Weaklands Crescent, Drive etc.

Weren't they called Vic Hallam houses.
I presume after the builder, or ? architect.

I live on the Scowerdons but don't have a clue about any of it!
And yes, they are the Vic Hallam houses.
Yes me too on scowerdons, the area does not have too much local history of its own but the surrounding areas have loads.
There is a book available that is about Hackenthorpe - one that has the brown colored cover and there's several of about the different areas. I think the main part of it about Sheffield is about the industrial side of Hackenthorpe, about the workshops down near Main Street. A lot of it is about Frechville and some other surrounding areas.
