Yep i have and they said that i might not get my money back on medical grounds and to just not pay on the holiday loose my £150 deposit as they wont chase me for the remainder of the holiday :(
but i think they are saying that so they still get there commision on the booking.
so i am trying to get in contact with jmc direct to let them know i cant travell and try and get my deposit back.
worth a try isnt it.
i have the doctors note as i am currently awaiting an opperation and will not be fit for travel.

Definately worth a try but I wouldn't get your hopes up of getting the deposit back, I booked a holiday with Thomas Cook the other day and they explained there would be no refund deposited whatever the reason I can't travel.

Good luck :)

Hi Kimba,

I am an independant travel agent, your only hope is if you have taken out travel insurance and the reason you are cancelling was not a pre-existing illness or you were not on the waiting list for an operation then you should claim your loss of deposit through insurance as the tour operator will not refund it.
The travel agent will not get any commission for loss of deposit - this is paid to the tour operator.

Good luck and Merry Christmas!
