View Full Version : Apparently 250 people yesterday were hurt tossing and squeezing lemons kirky 09-02-2005, 12:19 all in aid of pancake day.....how i wonder:confused:     Swan_Vesta 09-02-2005, 12:36 No comedy frying pan related injuries? Maybe all of the 250 fruit related mishaps were written up as "assault with an offensive lemon". beansfeast 09-02-2005, 12:42 I was hurt by a lemon yesterday. Squeezing it on my pancake, a pip popped out of the lemon and into my drink. I put my hand in my drink to remove the pip but spilt some water on the floor. Unfortunately my cat was nearby and was scared by the water, she ran out of the room knocking my work bag away from where it was propping the door open and jumped out of the catflap. The bag fell over releasing the door that slammed shut causing an ornament to fall over in the bedroom above. The ornament rolled over to the bed knocking the eletric blanket switch to the on position, and ended up hitting the bedside table. The electric blanket came on heating the bed, and the glass of water by my bed rocked by the ornament fell over spilling water onto my bed. The blanket short-circuited, blowing the fuse in the plug and making the trip switch click on the fuse box. The lights went out, I couldn't see anything and getting up tripped over my bag which the cat had knocked over earlier. Fell to the floor, but managed to save myself from injury by throwing the lemon in the air and landing on my hands, on the floor. I turned round to get up, the lemon landed on my head with a drop in my eye causing me an injury and having to wash my eyes out with plenty of water... That's how I was injured by the lemon... (Not a true story - hopefully a funny one though!! :hihi: ) Swan_Vesta 09-02-2005, 12:54 Very good Briano! You've not been watching Tom & Jerry have you? beansfeast 09-02-2005, 13:00 not this year...yet :heyhey: viking 09-02-2005, 13:08 The blanket short-circuited, blowing the fuse in the plug and making the trip switch click on the fuse box.The lights went out Your lights should be on a different circuit from your sockets, so it was not the lemon it was your wiring. as you see from my signature, my wiring also needs looking at. Kristian 09-02-2005, 13:08 Nice one Briano  Can we have an update on Tuesday to let us know you're safe, and not trapped underneath a giant Valentine card or something! K x beansfeast 09-02-2005, 13:16 Most certainly, thanks for looking out for me!! :P And maybe on that fateful day, kirky could tell us how many people are injured by valentines gifts... :hihi: Kristian 09-02-2005, 13:22 Originally posted by Briano Most certainly, thanks for looking out for me!! :P And maybe on that fateful day, kirky could tell us how many people are injured by valentines gifts... :hihi: I suppose it depends if they've been bought from an 'adult' shop or not... :) K x nick2 09-02-2005, 13:26 Originally posted by Kristian I suppose it depends if they've been bought from an 'adult' shop or not... :) K x or how many people actually buy chainsaws as gifts miniminch 09-02-2005, 13:42 I know someone who was hurt by tossing. Although no lemons were involved. I think a necktie and a satsuma were though. nick2 09-02-2005, 13:47 I saw on TV that about 10 thousand Americans get hurt each year putting on trousers. You can read into that whatever you want. beansfeast 09-02-2005, 13:49 I've just read into that the way I wanted... how embarrassing for them... :hihi: Kristian 09-02-2005, 14:03 Originally posted by nick2 I saw on TV that about 10 thousand Americans get hurt each year putting on trousers. Apparrently it's to do with hopping on one leg and falling over, rather than getting anything trapped in the zip! :wow: K x Sam Miguel 09-02-2005, 14:50 I am currently disabled due to a badly-swollen, infected elbow which is extremely painful. But why do I manage to catch it or bang it on pieces of furniture and doors about three times an hour? I never used to do this when it didn't hurt! beansfeast 09-02-2005, 14:57 Sorry to hear about that Sam Miguel, I think you'll find the solution is to tie your injured arm to yourself. Then tie a big piece of foam to your arm... the arm should then be well out of the way of anything that could harm it, and if it does hit anything... you won't even feel it!! Sam Miguel 09-02-2005, 15:01 Thanks, Briano. I thought of making some sort of sling. The problem is, it sticks out so much due to the inflamation, it's hard not to catch it. And when my son accidentally kicked it last night, I nearly went through the bloody roof. I was sitting on the PC chair, and he was on the sofa at the side swinging his legs when, ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! slimsid2000 09-02-2005, 16:55 It may well be that they all injured themselves tossing and sqeezing as you say. Their private life is their own business and you should not call them lemons!:hihi: owdlad 09-02-2005, 20:20 Sue this lot Sam, don't blame it on the furniture blame on the lemons. http://www.ultimatecitrus.com/california.html brummy_tracy 09-02-2005, 20:35 Originally posted by owdlad Sue this lot Sam, don't blame it on the furniture blame on the lemons. http://www.ultimatecitrus.com/california.html Hey theres a geezer on that site called Roger thats a navel expert. hmmm owdlad 09-02-2005, 21:07 Originally posted by brummy_tracy Hey theres a geezer on that site called Roger thats a navel expert. hmmm He's affectionately known as Belly Button Rog :hihi: depoix 09-02-2005, 21:17 hurt sqweazing lemons ? behave your self or the pc police will be calling on you brummy_tracy 09-02-2005, 21:25 Originally posted by owdlad He's affectionately known as Belly Button Rog :hihi: Do you recon he ever gets bitter or twisted. har har Im sorry ill go away now! |
