Work out what brand of BIOS if you can...

If it's a Toshiba branded one the pass may be Toshiba.

Backdoor passwords for AMI BIOSs include...

A.M.I., AAAMMMIII, AMI?SW , AMI_SW, BIOS, CONDO, HEWITT RAND, LKWPETER, MI, or PASSWORD.

If it's Award try one of...

01322222, 589589, 589721, 595595, 598598 , ALFAROME, ALLY, ALLy, aLLY, aLLy, aPAf, award, AWARD PW, AWARD SW, AWARD?SW, AWARD_PW, AWARD_SW, AWKWARD, awkward, BIOSTAR, CONCAT, CONDO, Condo, condo, d8on, djonet, HLT, J256, J262, j262, j322, j332, J64, KDD, LKWPETER, Lkwpeter, PINT, pint, SER, SKY_FOX, SYXZ, syxz, TTPTHA, ZAAAADA, ZAAADA, ZBAAACA, or ZJAAADC.

Or some Award BIOS's password is eight spaces.

If it's Phoenix then try...

BIOS, CMOS, phoenix, or PHOENIX

If you can't work out the brand then they're listed in the order I'd try them, happy tapping!

If you have a floppy drive for the machine you may be able to use a Toshiba key disk - see http://home.earthlink.net/~porsche914/linux/keydisk.html on how to create one.

If you don't have a floppy drive then get yourself a Toshiba BIOS key - see http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=toshiba+bios+key Plugs into the parallel port and automatically removes the password on boot.

Check that the key will work with your model though.

find and remove the motherboard battery

wont work. I have a password clearing thing you plug in the paralel port sooewhere but can't remember what models it's for. If you don't get anywhere let me know and I shall look for it.

i need to know how to get a bios password

Get a BIOS password?

Get through one... or set one?

If you want to get through one, look above - you've had several suggestions already.

If you want to set a BIOS password, go into BIOS (usually pressing DEL or one of the F keys at startup - it tells you on-screen!) and look through the options. It'll probably be under Security.

haha i bet you bought that 1 who said he bought it from a car boot and it was passworded? , thought about that my self untill i found the parallel reset dongle probably will not work and the usb 1 that will is rather expensive

eeek just found the 1 i was thinking of ( Item number: 190182466087) if it is that one then imo you paid over the odds

is the harddrive passworded aswell? ie can you access it in desktop computer? as if that is also locked then there are ppl who can get the password off of the drive
