When I insert a game all that is coming up is a message saying insert disc in an xbox360 console to play!
At first I thought the disc may be dirty but have tried all of the games(new and old) and its still doing exactly the same.
DVD`s play fine on it.
There are no red lights.
Any ideas what it might be, or is it knackered?

Sounds like your DVD drive is on the way out. Mine had the same problem and 3 days later I got the 3 red lights.

2 weeks repair with Msoft and got a spanking new one which works perfectly and is a lot quieter and had a new drive. I am now again a happy camper.

I thought it might be some thing like that.

I`ve just tried again and managed to get a game on, I still need to be getting in touch with msoft though don`t I, cos it shouldn`t take 2 hrs to get a game to play?

call them they sometimes have reset codes that can reboot software drivers which have heard is part of the problems

Try a DVD lens cleaner - it might be worth a shot?
