 as the title says, It's not the best of ideas. I was rather embarassed last night, as I sat down on my sofa, not realising I'd left my DPNs on the cushion.
I got a knitting needle in my.. erm... erm... leg:wink:! *!ouch!* what a wally! Just how blonde can one woman BE! lol lol lol
It drew blood! blood I tells ya!
a gentle warning:- be careful where you leave your knitting needles! lol

The important questions have to be, did you break the needle, bleed on your sock or drop a stitch?
I bet it hurt a lot though because they are blunt. Sorry.

I did this once with some really fine needles and bent them out of shape. I havent done it for ages though. Probably because a) I dont use the sofa and its easy to see whats in my special chair and 2) crochet hooks arent quite so bad!

bent needles, pierced myself, dropped one stitch (!) and no, I managed to keep the blood off the WIP. (thank goodness).
But bent needles :( I live in fear of my housemate (or, I will concede, myself) stepping on and breaking my DPNs (bamboo) when I leave them lying aroung. I probably shouldn't leave them on the floor :D
Ouch that must have hurt. :o Glad you didn't get an blood on your wip though :D

ouchies I hope your ok!
My bottom lip hurt when my son sat on one of my new Surina Needles and snapped it in two the other month.
I had to bite it so hard....
That's one of the reasons they keep knitting needles behind the counter in second had shops - THEY ARE LETHAL WEAPONS:hihi:
All laughing aside, I hope you don't hurt too much, and well done for keeping your WIP clean.
