Just got back from town and traffic was already bad at Brook Hill. Not sure how bad it will get but thought I would warn anyone about to set off.

Just been looking on the Star Web site, there has been a crash near Bristol Hotel, and traffic is backing up everywhere, whilst they remove the vehicles involved.

The crash is now listed as being cleared, although obviously it will take a while for the backlog of traffic to be cleared too.

It was chaos when I was near the end of the Parkway earlier with cars trying to turn right on to the ring road. A good test of how the new road copes with an accident. Not too well by the look of it.

That wonderful policy of forcing all the traffic onto a single road strikes again.

I also enjoyed the delights of trying to get across St Mary's roundabout with traffic blocking it off as a result of the traffic lights on Brammall Lane being too near the roundabout exit. Good fun. I witnessed yet another near miss there, with a very loud BEEEEEEP.

I went through at 6pm last night, towards Parkway was as free as ever and although there was slightly more traffic on the way back, my journey was only about 2-3 mins longer than normal.
The biggest problems are being caused by drivers!
I can't believe that The Wicker is that popular...At Park Square you have 3 lanes of traffic trying to get into one lane following the signs to "Wicker Only", trade must be booming in the shops down there with the sheer volume of people visiting them.
There also needs to be a lot of yellow hatching painted as drivers are just too ignorant to wait for their exit to clear before entering junctions.
I think when drivers learn to read road signs and use common sense at junctions (Can you see those pigs flying) then things might get even better.

You are absolutely correct what you say.
