You know I'm loving having Ashia's kittens here still but boy will I be relieved when 2 of them go to their new homes! Eleven weeks old now and into everything. I even suspect the barmy bengal Alfie has been teaching them some of his tricks, judging by what happened last night.

I'll never know how the CSI Miami season finale ended (not that it was that good anyway, the bit of the programme I did get to see), because just beforeit finished, there was an almight CRASH upstairs and the sudden scampering of several pairs of tiny furry feet away from the obvious scene of destruction... I'd heard them boucing about earlier but thought nothing of it until then.

On investigation, I discovered the little angels/demons/darlings/horrors (delete as appropriate) had managed to knock a glass shelf off the chimney breast and onto the floor- fortunately it wasn't smashed (tempered glass- phew!) but I'm not so sure the things that were sat on it have fared so well...I am so glad we fastened the flat screen tv monitor to the wall though - but as for the set top box and the dvd player (and the remote controls and the clock...) I think tonight I'll be checking them over to see what is Ok and what gets binned...

Anyway, all 3 considered themselves well and truly ticked off and I noticed the barmy boy Alf hovered in the distance, grinning as if to say 'my work here is done'. One loony feline in the house is more than enough, thankyou - I just hope he hasnt shared too many of his mischievous tricks with them. I'v already had to contend with frilly leather arms on my sofa and two chewed off slats from the venetian blinds - oh and a broken lamp - the only one I'd forgotten to fasten down with blue-tack.

Monsters!

(Love em really)

Now you know what my house is like on a semi-permanent basis! At the moment I've got one sweet 9 week old kitten and a 5 month old oriental monster who's climbing anything he can reach including the dog.

Sounds like an episode of Garfield/Odie :)

One of them has just come downstairs with a toy that I know for a fact was up in the attic. Theyve also figured out how to climb up to the dining table (bar height so that the daft dobe doesnt try to snatch our food whilst we're eating), using us as a human ladder [OUCH!]. There's one fast asleep on there now - had to remove my one and only vase of flowers though - I already call Ashia the Norwegian Florist Cat because she is always rearranging floral displays and her youngsters have inherited the same skill... Eeeek - certainly sounds like you have your work cut out there - sorry about all the damage and hope that you get it sorted for Christmas!

Thanks - it's all part and parcel of owning mad moggies. Solo (the ringleader) is off to his new home on Saturday, together with his new older brothers and sister, who have been staying up in the attic this week whilst mum has to work away. I'm going to miss the little guy- he's really a sweetie but I couldnt possibly keep them all. I love him to bits though and will feel terribly guilty when he goes in the cat carrier on Saturday...He will be well suited to his new home, being pretty sociable and unafraid of other cats. Have given Donna a packet of blue-tack to stick all her breakables down with before he arrives.

Sugar (now known as Kaboos) is staying a little longer- his new mum has to work over Xmas and will have more time to get to know him at the start of the New Year, so it wont be too traumatic for mum Ashia this weekend. Kaboos is the most well behaved and sane one of the three, so I think he is going to the right home where he will be a single cat but adored by his new mum. He's the only one of the three who is scared of our daft dobe now.

Arnie is staying with us - he is beautiful and very talkative - he tends to go along with whatever mischief Solo creates so no doubt he will find plenty of his own mischief to get into once the naughty boy goes.

I'm going to miss Solo and Kaboos - but will get to see Solo often (and he'll no doubt be back here when his new mum has to go away). There's a possibility I might get Kaboos back on occasional holidays too.

Awwww sounds like you are getting them all good homes. Our two terrors so far haven't broken anything too expensive in the last 1.5 years... still they have lots of time yet!

Havent checked the dvd and set top boxes yet but nothing appears to be rattling around loose inside them so maybe that's a good sign.

thankyou KSFF - we think so too, but then we are biased. Last night, we decided to let them have the run of the house instead of locking them in the front room and after the initial going mental half-hour, they settled down at the top of the stairs all curled up together. Aww. Of course, this morning I was fishing one out of the kitchen sink, one was trying to knock my houseplants off the kitchen window ledge and Arnie was winding up the dog again by stealing her favorite scabby looking stuffed 'kitten' and kicking it across the bedroom floor. Darlings!
