I've just opened a Christmas card that has some photos in it, sent from a kitten who I fostered earlier in the year (although I suspect that her humans helped her with the writing) and I'm having a good sob.
The photos are of little Rosie, all grown up and beautiful, having a run round in her garden, thanking me for looking after her when she was tiny.
If anyone wants to know why I foster and what I get out of it, this is it. This feel good moment of knowing that there is a happy family made up of humans and cats and that I played a part in making it happen.
Excuse me for getting all emotional over something so small- it was just so unexpected. Everyone hug their furries for me please.

aww meds that's lovely! Soon as I get home I'll give every one of them a hug whether they want one or not. Of course, with the number Ive got (and fostering and babysitting), you do realise it will take me ages..

kazads53 Send rainrescue a pm on here I am sure she will point you in the right direction :)
I would be just the same as you Medusa, how lovely when you see how worthwhile all the hard work was, you do a great job for the cats :)
Thank you for the compliments folks- I really don't do much apart from offering the kittens the same sort of snuggling and fuss that I'd offer a kitten if they were my own. I can let them go because I know that they are going on to live happy lives with loving families and because if I didn't then I wouldn't be able to help the next abandoned baby when the phone goes to ask me if I've got room for a small one.
Kazads53- there are loads of places that are crying out for foster homes, from South Yorkshire Animal Rescue, who I foster kittens for, to all of the people that rainrescue helps out. I'd foster puppies and dogs too, if it wasn't for the fact that I could only take in dogs who were proven to be OK with kittens and cats.
