View Full Version : IE6 and urlmon.dll error

The last few days have seen an intermittant error in IE6.
There's seemingly no pattern : it's not the same site that's affected, or even type of site...sometimes I get it 4 times on the trot, and then I can have 20 minutes+ without the error showing....

I get a warning that "IE encountered a problem and needs to close...." and lists urlmon.dll as being the culprit.

Most of the "solutions" I've managed to find seem to veer to W98 as opposed to XP, and I'm getting a bit vexed!

Any ideas, please?

Yeah, I'd seen that, Kenthack...interesting stuff, true enough.

It's just that this problem has started in the last few days only - it's more irritating than anything.
Never had any snags with IE before, so it's a bit baffling why it's decided to start now.
Might have to consider IE7 after all.....cheers, mate.

I keep encountering this error as well. I checked the event logs and it has something do to with urlmon.dll. I'm not sure what \ exactly when the error began. Any suggestions?

May well be related to one of the latest MS fixes (http://hardcorepontiacs.com/forum/2173-ie6-urlmon-dll-crash.html)...
