View Full Version : What's the best way to make a jacket potato?? Leigh 08-02-2005, 16:42 (i've never made 1 b4..odd i know).. Siān 08-02-2005, 16:48 Do you prefer microwave (quick) or oven (crispy skin) ? Personally I prefer to oven cook mine (low heat around 140c for an hour or so depending on the size of the potato - just check with a fork) Then I scoop out the middle, mash it together with some cheese & a little milk & pop the filling back in the skin & top with a bit more grated cheese. Then I put it back into the oven for another 10 mins or so :) (works with any filling really though - tuna & cheese & or sweetcorn is also good ) HotPhil 08-02-2005, 16:51 Or go for the best of both worlds approach - 7-10mins in microwave, 10-15 in oven. Crispy and quick(ish) Leigh 08-02-2005, 16:52 yesterday, i put it in the oven for over an hour and it was still rock hard...was shocked and abhorred. k will try the mix of quick n tasty...cheers!
