I just wondered, with winter fast disappearing, does anyone know when the gardening starts?

I start when things start growing again.
Getting all the crap out of the pond will be fun.

I tend to start when stuff starts growing again, but I wondered if there were any official guidelines or a particular approved date on which it was deemed correct to begin to attack the weeds.

The govt. haven't got round to controlling that aspect of our lives yet, - but give 'em another five years and they're sure to come up with something ;)

Rule number 1: Once you start cutting the grass you're done for! You trigger the bloody stuff off!

A general rule of thumb is: if you can't see the dog in it, then it's time to find out that the lawn mower is knackered.

1. Dig it over, and leave it lumpy. If there's a frost or two this will break it down. Air will get in, and it should warm up faster.

2. Sit back and watch the weeds grow.

3. That didn't help, did it?

Sam,
If you are worried about starting at the wrong time, may I offer you the opportunity to come and run some test weeding on my garden.

We hate cutting the grass, my husband claims he can hear it growing in the middle of the night, how sad is that ?
