I won't be there so you can play my anti-social pish taking role.
Thank you
Does it have to be civilised? Does that mean I can't burp?
I'm not being funny or anything but what are the nights out like? What does everyone mean when they say civilised in a funny sort of way? Is there loads of arguing or something? I wouldn't mind going but i'd be too worried about whether I ever upset anyone on here!
Nez,
Seriously, we are civilised and we have a great time.
We even talk to each other. :)
Come along - we don't bite and there's no need to be shy!
Joe

Thats ok then! Still not sure though! I'll have to try and remember what i've written in all my posts on here and whether i've ever upset anyone!

That's a point. You don't want to get walloped when you reveal your true identity to a person you reduced to tears a few years ago!
Just giving this a nudge back to the top - cant have people forgetting! :)
Edd,
It's highly unlikely that people forget the opportunity to drink... :)

actually we all take laptops and sit in different corners and chat just as though we're here ... then someone has to chase someone else down the street and someone else (male) has to wear a kilt and then .... i don't know what happens after that as i always have to leave early :( ...
msbehavin 12-02-2005, 19:51 not this time Rube!!! you and me are there till the death - I wanna see what they get up to till the wee small hours of the morning!:nono:

The Devonshire Cat is down past Devonshire Green (towards Atkinsons) but to the left. Sort of behind the grass area - if that's any help?
I met up with everyone for the first time last week and everyone is really friendly - so don't worry!

wsanderson 14-02-2005, 13:39 I'm in my forties. Will I be welcome or will everyone treat me like they treat their dad after he's just sat down after dancing at a wedding reception?

LOL! I'm sure you'll fit in fine - we all "blend" together well irrespective of age :)

MTheo,
I'll happily answer to 'Godfather' if said with suitable respect and obeisance.
I will reply after shoving a load of cotton wool in to my cheeks and adopting a cod Italian accent.
Joe :)

and sian will have to be mum i suppose.

The group is a mish mash of different ages. It's rare that such an age diverse group enjoy each other's company like this. You'll be more than welcomed.
Sam Miguel 14-02-2005, 15:28 I may be able to come down for an hour or so, if you can put up with me. I have avoided these get-togethers in the past for fear of looking out of place due to my 'old age'.
If I do come the age range will be stretched even more from 18 - 48 - but a very young 48, I hope - if only in mind.

i dunno- i was just gonna go and stand in there and ask people "are you from the forum" - someone has to say yes sometime :D

Yeah that's what I tried on Thursday. Unfortunately the group had no idea what I was on about. I shuffled away and found the real group in another room.
Hahaha so funny lol (laughing with you not at you).

Nope! Walk down the side of the forum off division street, for about a minute, and you'll see it straight ahead of you. :)

LOL Andy:P
I was just wondering the same as the other person actually. Having posted on so many different issues, sometimes vehemently - there might be someone out there ready to give me a good beating!:(
Owdlad will for one! just for telling him his tyre changing skills were rubbish.:hihi:
Well from the peeps that I've met non of them seem to have violent tendencies. I think you will be safe.
andy was just too drunk to remember me beating him senseless :D
So that's where my nose went! :suspect:

Definitely not, I think it's taken as read we all have differing views & are allowed to be as vehement as we like without it spilling over to social gatherings - you should come along :)
Sam Miguel 15-02-2005, 12:04 How will I recognise everyone if I decide to come?
Hang on, it might be easier if I describe myself: I'll be wearing a swollen left elbow.
SatanInHeels 15-02-2005, 15:37 considering coming down to say hi seeing as i havent been out in a LONG time, but slightly concerned that i will just get laughed at and told to get out because i look about 5 (well not quite)
what do ya think people? I have never been in there before...
evildrneil 15-02-2005, 15:53 I'm sure if you flutter your eyelashes nicely they will let you in ;)

I think you are silly for having such thoughts. If you are silly, then you will fit in nicely. :)
Please come along. The more new faces, the more fun!
carcrash 16-02-2005, 07:42 I'm coming along to this tonight. Any hints on how i should reconise any of you.
Hiya folks... I'm going to have to cry off this one I'm afraid :( I have to be at the NGH first thing on Thursday and Friday morning, something I've managed to worry about for the last three or four days. As a result I've had absolutely no sleep for the last few nights and I'm shattered :( I have no doubt I'd be very poor company tonight. Besides, all my bills have just come in and according to the people at Barclays, I don't have any orange juice tokens left  *sob*

evildrneil 16-02-2005, 09:08 Awwwwww no Tracie - who will we sned out to chase down Carcrash now???
How the hospital visit goes well and is all stressless *HUG*
Sad to hear that Tracie. You will be missed.
I am also pretty tired, but will still be there. See y'all later. :)
Yodameister 16-02-2005, 10:01 Glad to hear that you are not suffering forum meet fatigue Andy.
Despite having already exceeded my usual consecutive nights out limit, and I will be out on Thurday too, I will endeavour to make it.
mr.blaze 16-02-2005, 11:41 I might even pop down for a couple or ten.

Will it help if I wear stilts all night and cover myself in yellow paint?
You'll see a rather large group of people. The chances are that will be us.
:)
Sam Miguel 16-02-2005, 12:02 I am driving so must behave myself.
Also, I am only coming down for an hour or so, just to give my elbow a change of scenery in the hope that it cheers it up.
Might it?
Also, are partners welcome? It 's just that we have to go out and we were planning on dropping in on the way home. If not I can dump her, lol.
Everyone one is welcome and will be welcomed Sam.
What time are people getting there? Is it 8 as planned or are any early birds planning on starting early.
Sam Miguel 16-02-2005, 14:02 I reckon that we''ll get there about 8:15.
Can you park outside?

If your lucky enough to find a spot, failing that, usually some spaces down the side of the Dev Cat towards the Corp
Sam Miguel 16-02-2005, 14:31 Thanks, Deejay. I shouldn't have a problem, then.

Ok amend that - I have a fuzzy brain today & read that as licking not kicking
Think maybe I need a rest...

Sam Miguel 17-02-2005, 11:44 Just to say, my wife and I enjoyed your company very much last night. It was lovely.
It was great to get face-to-face with some of the people I have met in my time with SF, and to prove to myself that you are not just lumps of text on a monitor!
Hope to do it again real soon!
Once again, thanks.
