View Full Version : Wanting to know information about a vets Lisspot 16-12-2007, 21:40 As some of you know i was looking for a dog i have just got 2 puppies shihtzus which are due for their vaccinations i have gave a crookes i think u call it a ring just wondering if anyone uses them and what they are like? katkin 17-12-2007, 10:35 Have used A Crooks before when times have been hard (they are often much cheaper than our local vets and when we had to have our old moggie's teeth scaled they were great. Also recently been to take a cat for vaccs and they were very good. Gemima 17-12-2007, 17:46 I use Crookes Rotherham and have used them for 35years. The prices used to be very reasonable when Arthur Crookes owned the practice, but they have increased a lot since the new partners took over. I generally try to see the two partners Mr Adams or Mr Nicholl If I have a problem, but generally use any of the vets there for vaccs. shihtzumad 17-12-2007, 21:35 Am like you gemima i use crookes at rotherham, i find them fine, i have never had a problem with them. Any pictures lisspot of your 2 shih tzu's please :) Lisspot 19-12-2007, 14:19 thanks you all i have now got an appointment on friday for the pups to have their vaccs i just wanted to know more about them as i just got it out of the yellow pages not quite sure where abouts it is all i know is sheffield road hackenthorp but sheffield road is a long road, i will shortly get some pics up of oscar and tia for you soon Lisspot 19-12-2007, 14:33 although u will have to tell me how to post the pics up here not too sure Gemima 19-12-2007, 14:44 Its in the old village part of Hackenthorpe, at the end of Main Street. Its approx half way down Sheffield Rd on the right coming from Birley. pets@home 20-12-2007, 09:30 ive used them for the last 20yr & never had any problems they are so pleasant . Lisspot 29-12-2007, 22:18 well i took them for their first injection dont know if i told u and they are nice people i think i had a polish person or something give them the injection was very chatty and helpful taking them both back friday for 2nd injection...I am just wondering though vets iv been to before have a price list but i didn't see one there? as I am wanting my little girl spayed when she is older, i have read when she is 6 month old but i want her to have her first season first which may be quite difficult with having her brother as well so will have to seperate them but what im wondering is how much is it to have a bitch spayed there ? thanks pets@home 29-12-2007, 22:32 i think it varies on the size of the dog, i think i paid £150 for my staffie bitch to be spayed, hope this helps Lisspot 29-12-2007, 22:38 yeah that helps alot thanks well they are only small dogs shih tzus i will ask also on friday just to check, its just with me having both pups one being her brother i dont want him humping her or anything when he is older so its best plus my last dog got pyometra and i dont want her getting it when shes older shihtzumad 29-12-2007, 23:05 can't wait to see pictures of oscar and tia. the vets will spay your girl at 6 months, without a problem, are if you go to the rspca microchipping day, they give you free vouchers to get your girl done for free. Lisspot 29-12-2007, 23:14 i didnt know they had rspca days and i thought the vouchers are just for gsd and staffies, i have the pics here waitin dont know how to post them up lol shihtzumad 29-12-2007, 23:17 yeah they do, i have taken friends with their shih tzus, and they got the vouchers. :) Lisspot 29-12-2007, 23:27 aint it for people on benefits though? just looked at site and it says proof of benefits so i dunno i never knew they did microchipping days or anything like that is it at the rspca itself or do they go to places ? http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/mel_uk/Picture3.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/mel_uk/Picture2.jpg the top two is my little girl Tia and the bottom 2 is my little boy oscar http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/mel_uk/Picture4.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/mel_uk/Picture5.jpg shihtzumad 29-12-2007, 23:34 aint it for people on benefits though? just looked at site and it says proof of benefits so i dunno i never knew they did microchipping days or anything like that is it at the rspca itself or do they go to places ? http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/mel_uk/Picture3.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/mel_uk/Picture2.jpg the top two is my little girl Tia and the bottom 2 is my little boy oscar http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/mel_uk/Picture4.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/mel_uk/Picture5.jpg they are amazing lisspot. Lisspot 29-12-2007, 23:36 thank you the little boy is just a lil bit bigger than lil girl as u can tell but both lovely they both give a paw already but they aint taking the peeing and pooing outside bit too well |
