There's gay speed dating at Lounge Bar at the far end of West Street. I know nothing about the gay scene, but the geezer who organises it seems really nice and the girls who own the bar are smashing.

Call them to find out when the next one is: 0114 275 0880

well as a 40 something gay bloke, I don't appreciate anyone gay or straight to be told to p^&* off.....

a few more manners are in order I feel.

as for gay places in sheffield, as a bloke who hates the scene, I am sorry but there are few nice gay areas...
that I know of

And as a 33 year old straight person I have to agree!!!

And to the original poster - I would try the university LGB society - you should be able to find a link to it on www.sheff.ac.uk - though they may not be around for a week or so as its the Easter vacation...

I have heard the Nottingham House pub very near to the large student houses on Whitham Road is EXCELLENT for gays. I think it is a Tuesday when it happens, could be wrong.

Mark, have you tried looking on the Sheffield Pub Forum. It is a similar website to this only it is purely related to bars and pubs in Sheffield. Think it is just sheffieldpub.co.uk or something like that. They might be able to help you out. Or as evildrneil pointed out, perhaps you could give the LGB socs a call at the universities and see if they can give you any recommendations. I am sure they would be able to help. My Ma works at Sheff Hallam. I could ask her to find out the number if you like. She is usually in the know when it comes to her precious little students....HONESTLY that is what she calls you. You don't wind her up at ALL!!!! (hee hee)

mark...give Sheff Hallam Student's Union a call on 0114 2254111 and ask to speak to the Socs Officer. They will put you through to the LGB soc officer and you can have a chat with them.

The Union LGB website is http://www.shef.ac.uk/lgb/ although it would appear to be all about their internal organisation. I'm sure there are some contact details on there though.

I know a couple of the guys in the group and they're are all really friendly & helpful. They certainly wouldn't find pointing you in the right direction.

Best of luck

Hi Mark,

You would be more than welcome at the next gay speed dating event at Lounge Bar. Check www.thegayguide.biz/complete/speed for more details. We are all laid back and friendly and thanks to E-man for the nice comment ;-)

It pains me to see comments like the one about ******* off to Manchester, I'm 35 now, and it's people like that with narrow minded bigotted views that scare and influence young gay guys trying to deal with the fact that "society" somehow needs to label us and view us as different to everyone else.

this is my theory - if it helps !!

The gay "scene" in Sheffield, believe it or not was much better in the 1980's than it is now!! - yes its true!!!

I have 2 theories actually:

1 - the reason it is so bad for such a large city has something to do with the police and the magistrates granting licences (ie, they are very bigotted and not forward thinking)

or

2 - Gay people have become much more accepted these days and maybe its the done thing not to "ghettoise" - is that a word??, a group of people

Actually, if you go down West Street pubs at the weekend youll find loads of gay people mixing with straight people AND with no trouble - quite amazing really

theres my theory anyway - and, by the way I am gay too (yes another one!!!)

Does anyone know what's happened to Dabble at the Leadmill, there wasn't one last month and I haven't seen anything about it, maybe its going to be over August Bank holiday but I will be in Manchester at Pride so not going to miss that really.

I think its a shame that Sheffields scene is a bit on the rubbish side. I mean fairy likuid please its just awful and we dont have a pride, Leeds are doing a rainbow weekend and have a good gay scene how come they can manage it??

I think Sheffield should wake up and try and be a bit more like Leeds and Manchester.

I mean Manchester Pride is great I go every year its got the right idea completley, lots of fun set around their gay scen, AND it raises loads of money for charity. Maybe thats what Sheffield should get in on, doing charity things for the gay scene, maybe the magistrates will be a bit easier on us all then?

I agree Princess - as a gay bloke in Sheffield the "scene" is horrendous - no wonder most people sod off to leeds or manchester - something should be done!!

I've heard the Climax all day'er extends into Western park in the daytime. Is this true ? Can't believe it myself, in Sheffield too ?!!

Yes, I agree Princess M, Fairy Likuid is awful and so obvious (ie. cheese on cheesy rubbish music). The trouble is, all these 'gay' nights are made for 'Marco's' (as in BB). It's full of screamers ! Annoying campers camping it up. More mincers than a sausage factory.

Hate Dempsey's too due to that 'Poundland' feel. Low life gaydom ! No style, no character, no attitude which are all the elements missing in Sheffields gay scene and clubs.

The best one (but not exactly great either) is Climax. At least they have a slightly differing music polcy in the 2nd room but even then it's getting a bit obvious, playing the same choons each month.

Have I missed any out ?

CLIMAX - the best by far!

Been going for 6 years and I'm still not teird of it.

Think Sheffield is in desperate need of a decent full time gay club in Sheffield though.

Something on the same scale as NG1 in Nottingham and Queens Court in Leeds would do Gr8t business!

Some people will say there isn't the demand for it in Sheffield but when you consider how many people go to Climax (which is incidently the University of Sheffield Union's most successful monthly club night) and when you also consider that there are over 500 registered profiles for gaymen in Sheffield on Gaydar.co.uk, who knows how many gay people live in Sheffield are unregistered, I'd estimate about 75% aren't.

The only reasons the last few full time gay clubs have bombed, i.e. Freedom and Planet is because the venues was so cheap and nasty with over priced drinks and the club manager's was only thinking about bleedin the pink pound dry!

Think it's only a matter of time before someone with the money and nouse comes along and opens a 1st rate gay venue in Sheffield which will set the standards for other gay pubs/clubs in the city.

God I wish they would hurry up! I cant afford to keep travelling to Leeds and I dont want have to live in Leeds before anyone tells me to **** off over there!

Sanderson
13-07-2004, 17:18
Money itself and prospectors cannot bring Sheffield the gay choice it deserves to have. What Sheffield council, planners, magistrates, police and every other organisation that "governs" the city needs is a "kick up the ass" - they seem to be backward thinking instead of moving with the times

Its fine making Sheffield a "mecca" for students but what about the minorities such as us gay people that get left behind not only other cities in the UK but some small towns which have a better gay choice than we have here!!!

Even if money is poured into providing a decent gay scene in Sheffield happens, the question is WILL the magistrates grant a licence plus will the POLICE do something underhand to block it??

Me cynical? - no, Im a realist, Ive seen it all before.

skyfitsboy
14-07-2004, 13:32
Why is the Sheffield governing authorities so backward thinking when it comes to catering for it's gay community?

What have they got to fear?

Straight and gay people mix in the pubs and bars without any problems on West St and Division St/Devonshire St.

Sheffield hetrosexuals are alot more tolerant than many other cities when it comes to its gay community.

Sanderson
14-07-2004, 14:03
Its not the people of Sheffield that stop there being a good gay nightlife, its the authorities, ie, such as licensing and police etc.

Over the years generally the gay establishments have been run by one owner(s), its common knowledge, the whole scene has been monopolised basically, and when strangers have tried to get in as it were, they have been "blocked"

Political - dodgy dealings, call it what you will but this has taken place over the years and appears still to do so - this is the main reason why us gay people have to "put up" with such a deplorable gay scene in whats supposed to be one of the biggest and cosmopolitan cities in the UK.

skyfitsboy
14-07-2004, 15:22
Quote from Sanderson:

"Its not the people of Sheffield that stop there being a good gay nightlife, its the authorities, ie, such as licensing and police etc."

My point exactly, I never said it was the people of Sheffield who stop there being a gay scene in Sheffield.

I don't think the dire scene in Sheffield can be completely blamed on the political dodgy dealings within the Sheffield authorities though because surely they would have closed down Club X's years ago its has dodgy has an hedgehog on the Parkway!

How do the councils and authorities stop there being a scene and clubs in Sheffield ? Do gay clubs and venues have to have a separate licence to straight places ? Why can't prospective investers open gay place under the same rules as Xes, Dempsey's and Climax ?

What is it exactly they do to stop such places opening, and if so, why can't it be taken to the court of human rights ? Is it to do with the number of votes in the council that say 'don't open any more gay places' ? If so, on what basis ?

I'm same as you. Would like to see more 'class' places in Sheffield like in Manc and Leeds but don't understand how descions are made in the council to stop this ?

By the way. interesting stats on how many gay's there are in Sheffield.

Sanderson
16-07-2004, 16:40
no one really understands why these decisions are made, unless u r in these authorities - but im still sure its all dodgy - how come places like nottingham and leeds, smaller than sheffield - get such a variety??

i wanna go out tonight but other than driving to leeds in which case i cannot drink im resigned to going to the same places yet again in sheffield - oh well, such is life - unless of course anyone knows where i can kip down overnight lol

Do "gay clubs" play different music to "straight clubs"??

I don't really understand why there needs to be gay and straight.

Can't everyone just go to the same places and mix together and just have a good time regardless of sexual persuasion?

skyfitsboy
27-07-2004, 16:34
There are plenty of so called mixed bars in Sheffield, but I wouldn't feel comfortable snogging or holding hands with another fella in any of them!

Can you imagine being in a pub on West Street say Varsity or BRB and two guys decided to hold hands, a perfectly acceptable thing to do with your partner in public if your straight.

But heaven forbid if 2 guys did that in a mixed public place and I should know!

The majority of the straight people in there would just ignorantly stare till their eyeballs fell on the fall. Some would take it a step further and threw verbal abuse, some even further would threw punches!

Stopped going to Polysexual at the Forum on a Saturday night when it was running (Promoted has being a mixed night), although the door staff did used to warn groups off straight guys that homophobic behaviour would not be tolerated. Numerous time's I was made to feel very uncomfortable and even got spit at whilst dancing and called all the usual gay-names, which actually make me laugh!

Not exactly what you want, when you've been working all week and you just want to go out and have a good time.

So YEAH I do think there is a genuine need for gay venues in Sheffield.

God I never realised there were so many gays in sheffield.
Woul'd I be correct when I say there are at laest 6 gay bars in the city,if so you are spoilt for choice.
Have you tried that one on carslile street, ive been told it is very good, not that im gay or anything.
I once went in the cosack out of curousity with some friends and it was ok ,but the price of the drinks was excessive, you seem to pay a lot for having gay bars.

28-07-2004, 08:45
Skyfitsboy I didn't realise there was still so much homophobia about. I'm shocked! I can't believe someone would spit on you.

I mean I can understand that some people just don't like the idea of homosexuality and it might bother then, but to actually shout at someone or spit on them is quite disgusting.

If I saw two men snogging in a bar, yeah I admit I probably would have a look because It's nothing something you see everyday, but it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. After the initial novelty of the sight had worn off I'd probably think "oh pack it in you soppy sods" old romantic that I am! :D

6 gaybars?! This is Sheffield not Leeds!

There are only 2 gay bars in Sheffield I am aware of these are Dempseys and Club Xs.

Could you tell me where the other 4 are please because I would love to be spoilt for choice.

As for The Cossack that shut down ages ago and for goods reason, it was little more than a garage!

Both Dempseys and Xs very cheap and nasty places with overpriced drinks, and to get to Xs which is in one of the most disgusting places in Sheffield - Burngreave cost's a fortune.

Alot of small towns in the UK have better gay place's than Sheffield, it's so embarassing when gay friends from other cities come over to see me and they want to sample Sheffield's gayscene.

I'm just thankful we have Climax, shame it only once a month.

Sorry if I have shown my ignorance about the number of bars for gay people,I have to say that you do get a raw deal what with over priced drinks and lack of venues.
I did nor know the cosack had closed down,I woul'd have thought that with the population of the U K being 10% gay it woul'd make good comercial sense for someone to cater for that market.
As they say the pink pound has a lot of buying power, anyway hope you find something to your liking soon.

Went to Climax for the first time ever on Saturday and had a great night out. Would recommend to anyone, gay, bi or straight. It felt really free and relaxed in there as nobody cares what anyone else thinks. I'll definately be going again next time. Anyone know when the next one is?

I'm aware that Fairy Likuid is this Saturday but from what I've heard it's not up to much.

BTW....did anyone see Marco in Climax this weekend? He was being kept busy all night by people wanting to chat and get pictures. Hehe

Does anyone know why Sheffield doesn't want to be part of the 21st Century. You know, it was a great city once. When did it decide not to move on like Leeds or Manchester (or Nottingham)? Who wants to be in the biggest village in the country or the People's Rebublic of South Yorkshire? Forgive the following comment from a straight but maybe the reason there's no Gay Pride in Sheffield is because there's no Sheffield Pride?

I've lived and worked in London, Leeds and Manchester and know that these are places where things change fast. Not everyone wants to go out at 8 on Friday, but I did in Sheffield once and the place was dead. This doesn't happen elsewhere. What is it with girls and gay bars? Maybe it's the music or the non-threatening atmosphere, but the gay bars I've been taken to have been really good. Don't know the name, but the music at some bar in Queen's Court Leeds was awesome. small venue great non-commercial dance music, great night out. Just have to apologise for crashing someone else's scene. OK I've had a drink and probably going off-topic. ??? Could you clarify please?

Queens Court in Leeds is really good on the right night, but it's not like any gaybars we have in Sheffield.

Guess what I'm saying is the gay scene and gay community is just as diverse as straight culture and can't be pigeon holed into one thing, which a lot straight people assume it is.

It's certainly never dead when I've gone out in town before at just gone 8pm, especially in the summer, depends where you go I suppose, which you could say about any city or town to be honest.

3. hillsbro corner (joke)

so, henri - do you ever go out on a friday night and find yourself being told by bar management not to kiss your partner because it's going to cause a scene??
also, have you had lager poured over you whilst being out with a group of girls and being overheard saying "look at the pecs on him"??
It may be like South Africa in your eyes, in which case homosexual people are the suffering party. We make the choice to go to 'safe houses' so that we can be ourselves and not have to worry that someone is gonna want to knock us to pieces.

I've never been to Club Xes but I've heard it's poo and from the look of the place (drove past the other day) I wouldn't like to be down that end of town at night, never mind actually going in.

Also arranged to go in Dempseys the other night but decided against it for the same reason. Maybe I'll get brave one night and go in but for now I'm sticking to Climax. I may possibly go to Mission in Leeds some time in the future.

There's another night called Fairy Likuid in Sheffield but I'm not sure when it's on next. As you say though, someone will know. :)

Just done a search on gaydar.co.uk for gay men registered in Sheffield and there is now over a 1000 gaymen registered!!

Some of my gay friends have profiles on it but most of them don't, there's no way of knowing for sure but the size of the gay community in Sheffield is easily several thousands, definately comparable with Leeds and Nottingham. (who we all know Sheffield has a bigger poplulation than both of these!)

It amazes me we still have such a crap gayscene here!

Wel Sheffield did once have a scene, but this was many years ago, time does change, but I am surprised it is not as good as it should be.

Club Xces I would say is the best of them all, I wouldn`t say it was seedy, it does cater for the more mature gay men, Dempseys is fine if you like them younger, but each to their own.

But you cannot beat Manchester.

Personally I go up to Blackpool for the scene! Dempsys is about the best we have, but unfortunately its too small, too hot and too crowded. In fact its a dump, but its always open and is fairly cheap. Climax is best at the Union, think there is one next Friday (17th). Heard that the Matilda may be reopening as gay soon as well.

Anyone know what the Bronx Sauna is like nowadays? Not been there in ages and wasn't very good then.

I think the "gay scene" in Sheffield has always been crap. I have never realy bothered with it as most of my mates are straight and it was made fairly obvious that they wern't welcome (especially in the Cossack).

I don't think I've been to a "gay" place in Sheffield for about 5 years now, and I don't miss it.

What we need is more pubs, but I feel thats a long way off.

nick2

What we need is for anyone to be able to go to any pub they want, but most gay people seem to actually want to be restricted to "gay" pubs.

Weird.

Pauly
14-09-2004, 14:09
Probably got something to do with the possibility that gay people might find it easier to relax and be themselves in a gay bar/club and have a better chance of not getting someone's back up if they ask them for a drink or whatever takes their fancy.

I can imagine some straight people could react very badly to the assumption that they might be gay and it's just not worth the hassle of upsetting someone where there might even be violent consequences.

nick2
14-09-2004, 14:43
Your probably right, I wouldn't want to share the pub with some screaming queen, perhaps some of them are better off locked away in the depths of Attercliffe.

I went to my first gay bar & club a few weeks back and i can honestly they have been some of the best nights out i have had out in ages...

The atmosphere was brilliant the only way i could describe it would be to say 'FREE' no one cares everyone gets on with their own things which is having fun and enjoying themselves...

Well I've only been in one in my whole life and that was Dempseys last Sunday and the Sunday before for the karaoke. Ok it's not the classiest of places but it's a good laugh if you're with friends and is better than sitting on your arse on a Sunday night being bored.

I used to live in London and found the "scene" was mainly about getting laid, which was fine when I was 18, but it's a bit tedious now I'm older.

The scene in San Francisco is amazing, so is Amsterdam, but London is just, well, single minded.

mimicraze
14-09-2004, 16:29
yeh i lved in london too, i kinda get ya about the getting laid thing but i wasnt up for that, so not every is just wanting a quickie in the toilets. there are some absolutely awesome clubs, heaven is amaing these days, the ghetto is alot better, and then theres popstarz which is grotty but probably the best.

nick2
14-09-2004, 16:35
What is different about Amsterdam and some other cities is that the clubs are "mixed" but you still feel relaxed and comfortable because everyone there is ok, you don't have to go somewhere "gay", same goes for the restaurants, pubs, hotels, etc. etc.

Thats the way I would like to see things go here, as opposed to just creating more exclusively gay places.

Pauly
14-09-2004, 16:42
Yeh it would be nice if everyone just accepted each other but I think if we discussed that we'd be verging away from the topic. :)

I agree, but going out to "straight" pubs will help people be more accepting, people won't get used to the idea if we hide in Dempseys every night.

Fairy Likuid is a real load of crap!

The organisers are so wrapped up in their own self-importance, it always feels like you've just gatecrashed some gayfriends, friend of a freinds tacky 18th birthday party where you wasnt really invited so you never really feel welcome:suspect:

Then theres the dreadful STEPS style pop/cheese that all gay people are supposed to luv and when the Likuid bunch stop the music and do one of their lame showstopping performances its just painfully embarassing to watch the confusion on peoples faces:hihi:

Would prefer a midweek visit to a gaynight in Chesterfield or Barnsley to Fairy.

Climax excluded, Do yourself a favour, save your money and go somewhere decent outside Sheffield!

I went to a university LGB meeting once with a friend of mine (for moral support he claimed but he was realy on the pull), it was so cringingly right-on.

We all had to hug the person next to us and decribe what predudice and hardship we had encountered being gay, they looked quite upset when I said I hadn't experiencd any and if I got any grief from anyone I would smash their face in.

We would have been better going to the pub for a few pints and a chat.

What happened to Poptastic in Sheffield anyway. I used to love that cause of the indie music and when it stopped I thought that Fairy Likuid was going to be something similar which is really isn't cause its rubbish and there is no indie.

Pop did come back briefly last year with Dabble but that was only short lived maybe the leadmill wasn't the right place I don't know but you would think that there is somewhere in Sheffield for them to come back to. Its a pain but I have to go to manchester to go to pop now, although apparantly poptastic is coming back to Leeds soon after it stopped on a Thursday which was a great night at the cockpit, its somewhere else now can't remember where though. but for gods sake come on Sheffield get with the programme!!!

Well everyone has slagged off Fairyliquid (must confess I never went), I have a feeling it wont statr up again, their website has been closed for sometime.

So lets start on the next 2 pubs that open till 3/4am ---> Xes and Av It bar, yes they are next to each other and it is a change to have 2 bars so close together and it is easy walk as well.

If you like young guys its probably the place to be, I get the feeling real gay men don`t exist in Sheffield now, gawd knows where they go.

Poptastic in Leeds is now back weekly at their new venue club MISSION every Sunday.

Also HOMO at MISSION every Thursday is quite similiar to poptastic and is only £2 entry and all drinks are £1 ALL NIGHT!

HOMO is always packed out with 2 fab arenas playing commercial dance and the other playing Pop/ Disco, atmosphere is fantastic!

On top of this of course Leeds offers Queens Court, Fibre, Federation and Speed Queen, hate to say it but Leeds completely pis*es all over Sheffield on the gay front:help:

Just wanted to add to the stuff already said...

I've always thought Fairy Likuid was crap since it took over from Poptastic at the NCPM. I was hoping for something similar with an indie room but it was just stereo-typical STEPS, Spice Girls, Wham and the rest of the cheesy rubbish that people seem to lump in with the 'gay scene'.

I've not been to Pink Glove at the Uni in the Raynor Bar ? or even know if it's still running. If it is, can anyone tell me if it's any good ?

Climax is just about the best there is. It's actually not too bad and I'm glad they don't always play the obvious cheese. They do make an effort to play some good chat stuff and the smaller room is good with the retro stuff although it can get a bit too self indulgent (have you seen how serious the DJ is in that room ? So intense !).

I'd say the last good place was Poptastic in the NCPM with the Indie room. Hope it comes back soon.

Pink Glove used to be fun in the Raynor Lounge at the University of Sheffield's Union.

Music was very indie and brit-poppish, the room was very small though abou the size of 2 large living rooms with a tiny bar and a DJ booth caged in the corner, but it was still gud fun.

Not sure if it still running or not, last time I went was about April last year.

So, is there anything on in the 0114 area tonight or tomorrow, apart from the usual 'only-if-you're-desperate' dempseys, as i finally have a night out in town.
if not - maybe i'll have to admit desperation and go there. i hate to admit it, but i have one of their memberships cards - with a very drunken picture on it!
when is next climax?

The Cossack was a good pub, the fact that they had a pool table was enough for me, Karaoke and quiz nights were great and it used to be packed at the weekend and on Thursday night (before Club Uropa stopped the gay night). I think it's going to be demolished now, either that or left to fall down. Shame.

My best friend lives in Leeds and he never misses Climax so that must say something about Sheffield:thumbsup:

Climax has a special vibe that I've not experienced anywhere else, it even had it when it used to be at the City Hall Ballroom back in the nineties!

It was ok in the City Hall Ballroom, there was plenty of space, though the beer was horrible and the plastic glasses were a pain.

My brother once went to Climax and was sent away as he was too old, (he was only 38ish), do they have a age policy ?,

Yes Cossack was good, and those were the days

So if no one goes to a gay pub, which staight pubs do you all go in

Thats what I hate about the gay scene, it's so youth and beauty obsessed that there is no room for "normal" people. I also think that once you are in a relationship you don't need the scene anymore.

I just go to the pubs in town, on West Street and Division Street etc, with my mates, we haven't had any trouble, but then a good night out for us doesn't involve running around like big screaming queens.

there is no age policy that i know of my friend nigel is 38 and gets in fine plus i've seen people much older than that in there

the gay scene is what you make it here in sheffield now in leeds thats a different story its as you stated nick2

Thats why we stay in town near quayside area, it is not full of big screaming queens as you say. Although its much harder to spot a gay person in str8 pubs.

I must try Climax one time with my brother to see whay it is like. I would neve go alone as have very few gay friends.

True, but not impossible.
I only realy go on the gay scene when I'm single and desperate for a shag (I can't imagine why anyone would go to Dempseys for any reason other than to get laid).
If I'm going out for fun with mates I prefer somewhere staight.

Pauly
06-10-2004, 15:53
I've been to Dempseys a couple of times and the guys I've tagged along with don't go there to get laid. They go there to have a bit of a laugh at the Karaoke on a Sunday night and have a few drinks, chill out etc.

Saying that though I still prefer either West St or Ecclesall Road for a night out. :D

Went to Poptastic in Leeds last night and had a top night. Great venue and great to hear indie music while I am out on the pull he he
I asked the DJ in the indie room if Pop was coming back to Sheffield and he said he didn't know but we told him it should and soon, don't know where they will go though.

I tried Homo at mission too the other week but I didn't like it as much, no indie just camp and dance and rather annoying people there too which was a bit of a nightmare. The dance room was ok though.

Great venue though Mission! I wish we could get it together over here and get some decent nights going again.

I ended up in there on Saturday night, had quite a good time once the alcohol had kicked in, arriving sober isn't a good idea though and should be avoided.

It doesn't seem to be as hot and stuffy in there, now that they have invested in some air conditioning, but they really need to get that chip pan sorted out downstairs cos the whole place just reeks of chips, when ya walk in the chip fat it stings your eyes, probably so you cant see how bad the place is inside :hihi:

Oh and the miserable DJ needs pensioning off, half the time he looks like he's asleep with his head in his hands, and he plays far too much RnB and that god damn Whitney megamix needs smashing to pieces!

nick2
11-10-2004, 12:36
Dempseys is just a strange place, I walked past yesterday and there were groups of pensioners having their Sunday dinner in there.

I suspect this is where the chip-fat smell comes from.

I agree Princess M. I don't get chance to go to Poptastic anywhere else and I miss it in Sheffield, particularly for the indie stuff. Used to love it in the Popular Music Centre a couple of years back.

Princess M
12-10-2004, 12:19
Yeah I used to like it there too Trouncer.

The indie DJ in Leeds is the same one that used to do NCPM and when I asked him he didn't seem to know if they were coming back or not but hopefully he will try and find out, there is nothing on their website.
I think we should get a petition going to Poptastic and get them back here.
Sheffield needs a good kick up the backside!!

Well, hope everyone enjoyed themselves last night at Climax. We WERE enjoying ourselves and got about 2 mins walk from Climax when my other half took a tumble outside The Harley and the result was a sprained ankle and 3 hours in Northern General A&E. Sh*t happens eh?

She's doing ok altho it's still pretty sore but they reckon she'll be walking ok again in a couple of weeks. She's learning how to get up stairs on crutches at the moment, not easy I can tell ya....and it's not even me who's got to do it. :o

The thing between us in the past is that fate always seems to take a hand so we're looking at it like there was a reason we weren't meant to be there last night. Any bomb scares or anything crazy happen in Climax last night?

hey people, just wanted t say that im proud to be gay and all the small minded people out there need to grow up and act like humans.
Gay people are nothin like perverts they just dont want to follow other people in their views and they just want to get on with their lives without small minded comments. if you dont like the gay scene dont go there and leave people to get on with what they want to do.

Anyone else think the atmosphere in Climax was quite strange last night?

Lost count of the times I got pushed, banged into, elbowed and shoved all without an apology and hate to say this but mainly from girls especially whilst waiting to be served, whats happened to manners!

Worst thing is that it's really infectious because I just got to the stage last night where I ended up pushing past people and not apologising.

If anybody that works in security at Climax is reading this, please could you try a bit harder to keep girls out of the guy toilets cos they just take over the place and some are quite vile, witnessed one girl trying to pee in the sink last night! :gag:

I rest my case. That's why me and the other half weren't meant to be in last night. I can't tolerate bad manners and people who push so it was probably a good thing that she and I weren't able to make it.

Why is it always about Men & Men there are also Woman & Women... But i guess that doesnt really matter to some men as that can just appeal as a huge 'turn on' :?

People should be treated with equal rights... What difference does it make? I am sure Gay people dont need telling about what they can produce an what they cant... If someone falls in Love with another who is to stand in the way of it... May they be Gay or Straight...

Gay people dont shove it down Hetrosexual peoples necks... Complaining and moaning about Women being with men and vice versa...

Live an let live! Life is too Short!

Soz not seen the Posters as yet :( but looking forward to VIP... it'll be nice to be going somewhere diff for a change... Other then Climax an maybe Dempseys for a Sunday evening of Karaoke with the other half...

Seems ages since Pauly and i were at Climax... September was the last one we went to... So gives us an excuse to make Novemeber a greater night out...

I'll certainly be watching my steps that night... Dont want any further accidents before i actually get to my destination...

Do we :?
