Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help.

My server is wanadoo. Whilst I am trying to visit various websites, Ebay in particular, a rectangle warning box comes onto my screen and says 'error we have to terminate this page', there's nothing I can do and the page just closes. It's been happening for a couple of days. There sometimes is another warning too saying 'microsoft error this page has to close', then just closes.

For the past few days even though I have a pop up blocker enabled, I keep getting 'casino' pages and diet rubbish keep popping up. Has this anything to do with it and how do I stop these irritating pages from popping up too?

I have ran a virus scan and it has found nothing, I have also run a spyware scan and I have isolated some nasties.

What on earth is the error? Is it anything to do with wanadoo?

Thanks in advance.

Janey.

Ok so things are getting even more hard to figure out. Here's why- whilst I am viewing pages certain words have been underlined and I can actually click on them to find out what they mean. Even on this site, what does it all mean? Is it a parasite? Virus? or what?

have you run any virus or spyware programs to see if there are any problems?

ad-aware se or spyblaster are good

get rid of pop up blocker and re-install google toolbar. (sometimes i do this as some pop ups get thru)

I'm not 100% sure but it sounds like your browser might have been hijacked. I would do the following to try and remove all the Malware on your computer.

Run Panda Active scan (http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm) then run this online Trojan scan (http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/).
Download, install and update Ad-Aware SE (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5), Spybot search and destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html) and CWShredder (http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html).

Run them all in safe mode (press f8 repeatedly while rebooting) and your computer will be virtually clean of Malware.

If this does not work it may be time to start looking at the programs that are not working properly, ie: Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
Also, can you give us the exact error message including the error code ;).
