Hi! It's my very first post (so be kind!) :D

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can get to Whirlowbrook Hall on the bus. I know that its somewhere off Ecclesall Road South, but not entirely sure where. The people at the desk at the Interchange didn't seem to know either (and they call themselves "information"!!! ;) ), but suggested I took the No. 50 bus from town, heading towards Dore.

If anyone's been to Whirlowbrook Hall, or knows how far it is from Ecclesall Road South, please post away.

Any help is appreciated thanks.

The number 50 is the correct bus from town towards Dore.

You wanna get off at the HSBC Sports Ground in Whirlow (it's opposite there).

Incidentally... why?

I hope you enjoy it. I think you will. I went to one there a couple of years ago. It's a nice place.

Reception eh?

If you were at the actual wedding (get a look at the tape) I predict that the registrar will be a tall slim older man, with black hair and glasses.

Tell me if I'm right!

Is that the one in the park? If it is, then it's a long trek up the drive.

My cousin got married about 3 weeks ago. It was the longest set of photos I've EVER known. They must have been taking photos for 3 hours! Weird though, these photos go up on the companies website. www.future-earth.co.uk
Must admit the photos are excellent though!

My wife and I got married and had the reception there almost 4 years ago. Fantastic staff, and a great venue with a well thought out blend of olde worlde and contemporary decor.

It's nice that the footpath through the woods allows you to see the hall... I can picture my wife and I in 40-50 years time walking through there, saying; "ooh, look dear, is that the place?".

Oh, I've gone all soppy. I'll stop now.

They do a cracking toasted teacake. Mind you I'd be a bit miffed if I got that at a wedding reception.
Its also a good place to have a cuppa if you do the Round Walk.

Is it true no more Wedding or Functions will take place @ Whirlowbrook Hall after Oct 2012

Vantastic

Yes, think they've decided not to renew the wedding license 'not commercially viable anymore' or something like that.

Shame as it's a very nice venue.

There are a few buses that go past that way in addition to the 50. Any bus heading towards Fox House will do - I think there's a Castleton service, although they aren't so frequent.

Just ask the driver for the stop nearest to Whirlowdale Road - that's more or less opposite.

It's a wonderful venue. Enjoy!

Cafe is very poor quality in terms of options, variety, price. The staff are awfully rude there too. That is my take on the cafe.
