That would be A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens... and is nothing like a panto.

Why is there no option for 'they are all terrible once you have passed the age of eight!'?

Panto is wonderful escapism - fun for any age - you just have to throw yourself into it & join in. I'm off to see Cinderella at the Lyceum in January!

Trying to imagine Scrooge as a Panto... *shudders at the thought*

I've never been able to stando pantos. Even as a child all that 'I can't hear you' stuff really grates.

Isn't once enough! Still, I'm taking the cubs to see Cinderella this year so we'll see!

We're off to see Cinderella on Christmas Eve at the Lyceum.
It's my 4 year old daughters first time at the theatre and I'm hoping she loves it.:D

I love any Panto. I remember seeing Peter Pan somewhere a few years ago starring some extremely fit girl in tight leggings as Pan!

And stuff like Cinderella or Snow White's good, the girls in the title role are usually a bit nice! I'm still waiting for a production of Snow White in UK though starring Susan Kennedy off Neighbours as the evil Queen (she's a bit old to be Snow White, despite the fact she doesn't look it).

Went to see my first panto aged 25 and now go most years (deprived child, everyone say 'Aaahhh'!!).
Cinderella's my definite fave - I love the corny jokes, and am rather partial to a man in drag - and you get at least two in Cinderella with the Ugly Sisters!

"Behold, the son of god"

"Oh no he isn't"

"Oh yes he is"

etc.

I realise that this has probably been done to death over the years....(oh no it hasn't :hihi:) but for the benefit of new comers to SF - including myself (and prompted by Rivelin6 on another thread).............

What's your favourite pantomime and who would you like to be in it?

What's that one that Manor Operatics used to do quite regularly which usually involved a pastry chucking scene? Oh to be sat near the front row during that bit!

Oh yeah! It's that one with the Queen of Tarts (and no, not THAT kind of Tart)!

I think Panto is great. Why I may even star in one someday!

But only if I can be an evil witch with fabulous hair.

Though some might say that was typecasting.
