I went ice skating last night, for the first time in 8 years, amazingly I did ok, no falls, and was feeling more confident towards the end. However, it was really, really busy being "cheap skate" night. Is it always like this or does anyone know of a quieter time to go? So many kids who'd been skating since they were walking recklessly stopping in front of me and doing fancy tricks, kind of intimidating!
Mind you if this ice keeps up I could just skate down Prince of Wales Road!! Thanks
Gosh I havent been Ice Skating for about 20years. I had lessons at "Silver Blades" (as it was then) as a kid and used to love going. Perhaps I should give it another go. I would probably fall flat on my backsie now though :hihi:

If you are free on a tuesday or thursday morning that is the quietest time. I've been down a few times on thursday morning at 10am and there has been a maximum of 30 people on the ice. There are a few private lessons going on but nothing that won't stop you having a good skate around. We also tend to go on thursday evenings (well did until my work hours changed) I think thats a bit quieter but you still have to play "dodge the chav".

yeah unfortunately i work full time (9-5) so really i need an evening, i'll try a thursday next time. my friend is ale to go in the day time, so i'll tell her about thurs mornings

last few times we have been its been manic..all the little chavs kicking ice up at you ive never been when its quiet, i think its expensice there too especially for a family to go or am i just tight

£5 or £18.50 family ticket, not too bad as you can stay in all day.
We go on Sunday morning, there's quite a few on the ice but it is a family session so kids need an adult with them which means the chavs don't come in till 12.30.

Saturday morning is also quiet - about 10ish I think - again there was about 30 and as its a family session not too many chavs.
