what makes you say that?
it always looked clean and the reptiles cared for.

just some of the poor husbandry and the fact they will sell any reptile to anybody who has enough cash.

I think part of being a good exotic shop is making sure the animal is gonna be well looked after. What im trying to say is that a responsible shop will not sell a reptile that should be for people with experience to complete beginner like bad shops will

Sounds like your trying to eliminate the competition.

i do agree with you there. i have read and studied for years on everything to do with reptiles. decided i wanted an iguana and went to attercliffe to buy one. the bloke in the shop tried everything to put me off, at first i thought he was just being an ahole. but thinking about it he does know his stuff. so then of i went to the mill and bought kiwi at 18weeks old. no questions asked.
kiwi is now 18months and such a big part of my family.
i also got a bosc monitor lizard called mack from the mill aswell. hes thriving also.
i do go to attercliffe now and again to buy food and to see that stunning cayman he has.

Exotics at Attercliffe all the way. Ask for Tony (or look for the guy with a Mohecan (sp)). Brilliant with all reptiles.

Failing that The Snake Shop up the road from there is ok, but personally I don't like the guy very much (no offence).

I would say Exotics, for just about any question, animal, viv or accesory is the perfect place!

a good source to buy reptiles from would be to contact breeders, as this way you know they are not wild caught and being sold in the pet shop trade as alot are. also their are some good garden centres around that sell different species of reptiles.

The Lizard Lounge in Hillsborough has a few snakes, not as many as Exotics, but they all appear in perfect health and extremely well kept. The guys who work there are sound as well, and will offer you all the advice they can.

Well I dont breed or have a shop so there not much competition lst reallyis there.

What I do actually is get 3 or 4 calls a week from people who have been sold a bosc monitor or a green iguana and told its a perfectly tame animal for a beginner or a child.

I do aggree the lizard lounge is a good shop for everyone who wants more of a beginner reptile and they are a good pair of lads I do advise them sometimes on the quirkier problems and enigmas of reptile keeping. I have also taken in some of their animals that have been delivered with problems or that have come back as the owners didn't follow the advice given to the animals keeping.

Some other shops may have had them euthanised.
