I know i havent really posted much on this group before and you wont know about Lucy but she was my 15yr old dog who i have had since i was 8 years old. She crossed rainbow bridge last wednesday, it has taken me this long to get the courage to post it on here.

She had a heart murmur from being a puppy but it wasnt until she turned 11 that it began to cause her a problem, we thought that was it then, but she managed another wonderful 4 years on heart medication.

Ironically it wasnt the heart murmur that made her ill on that last day, the vet said she had tumours on her chest. It was very quick, she was only ill for that one day and the euthanasia was very peaceful, she just laid in my arms.

I just wanted to share this with everyone as i know many people on here have gone through the same.

Thank you
Biffalo

awwww poor you, it must be awful to loose a pet that you have had for that long.
i have only had my cat for a year or so and i absolutely adore him and couldnt imagine him not being here.
i dont really know what to say as nothing is going to bring her back but i do hope you feel better soon....:)

R.I.P lucy xx

i am sorry for your loss this happened to me not so long ago but she died in her sleep also had heart murmer. It does evensually get easier but not a day goes past when i don't think of her i may sound mad but i have had a big picture done of her my best picture i ever took and every night i talk to her i know im talking to a picture but she was my baby from me being 10 years old and im almost 21. I have a little box together with abit of her fur other pictures of her and one of her toys all in together and the toy smells exactly like her shes forever in my heart and always will be. It will get better and I know its awful to make a decision on your pet luckily mine went in her sleep but i would have never let her suffered even if i had a choice
