My friend believes her grand parents are buried there. I was wondering if anyone knew where this is .

I think its off the Crosspool end of Lydgate lane but someone else will probably be able to elaborate better

If you go up Manchester Road [A57] go past the Crosspool Tavern take a right turn into Headland Road and that takes you to the cemetary. Alternatively you can go into Crookes and take a right [as you go away from town] into Mulehouse Road.

Thanks for replies I will tell my friend and no doubt next time we go for a carvery in the Crosspool tavern we look for it.

I think it must be at the Crosspool end of Lydgate Lane. I went walking through the bole hills in the summer and ended up by a cemetrary - i think it is Crookes cemetary but I am sure it took us all the way to lydgiate lane.

Have you tried up my street or the google maps.

You need to ask for Crookes Cemetery. As MORT says, there are two entrances - Mulehouse Road from a 52 Crookes/Hillsborough bus or a 51 (Lodge Moor) to Crosspool and walk back up Lydgate Lane and Headland Road. In both cases, it may be a 10 minutes walk involved.

There are gates into the cemetery, as you turn onto Lydgate Lane/ Headland Road, off the main Manchester Road, just near the Crosspool tavern.
