this is a cross thread that i found on another site i use

Patch needs a rescue space.

Cross-breed, male, approximately 12 weeks old. White with black patches. Patch is a confident and friendly boy! Typical puppy!

He will be put to sleep on Friday 14th December 2007 if a rescue space is not secured for him or if funds are not available for emergency boarding and unfortunately at this present time we don't have the funding.

PATCH CAN GO INTO A FOSTER HOME IF ONE CAN BE FOUND AND HOMECHECKED BEFORE FRIDAY. PATCH IS IN THE NORTH WEST. Please contact Rochdale Dog Rescue if you can help save this little lad's life.

Oh poor Patch, I am sure he will find a fosterer before the 14th, if not please let us know....he won't be PTS and if it came to that I would take him myself.

Less of the old if you don't mind lady :hihi:, I mean it too if it comes to PTS I will happily foster him, but somehow I don't think it will come to that myself :D

Yes I know Coryn a friend of mine rehomed a dog from her a few years ago.
I suppose the problem is that Rochdale is just so far away (it was such a long drive from here or seemed it).
I guess its difficult to get the dog this far then if its only fostered just as difficult to do a home check etc

I know that it seems terrible about dogs over that way in a desperate situation - but believe me Sheffield is struggling as usual themselves.

Sheffield, and indeed all of South Yorkshire are one of the worst areas in the country for dumping dogs and dogs being abandoned.
I can't understand fostering or adopting dogs from one area - when locally they are in such terrible need. All of the local rescues would appreciate any and every bit of help they can get from decent fosterers - and so contact them to see if you can help in any way.

We are now getting pics up of the dogs in kennels in both the Sheffield Council kennels and the dogs up at Cliffe Kennels - ALL OF THEM VERY MUCH IN NEED and MUCH closer to home.

Thanks for trying to help

It really is terrible to know of all of these dogs so badly needing homes, and more so its so sad that a puppy might be potentially PTS but as I said I don't really see that happening.
While Rainrescue was posting I was wondering if any of the local rescues were fostering dogs out for xmas this year? I know that it has been tried before with very good results but not sure if it was nation wide or something other rescues might try?
