View Full Version : Man Utd players injured?
Hmm. I see Ferdinand and Keane have picked up injuries and 'won't be available' for the friendly internationals on Wednesday. What about Giggs? I thought there would have been a good chance of him picking up an injury also.
What's the odds on them to have fully recovered from their injuries for the following Sunday?
Robbie Loving 06-02-2005, 19:58 yeah, i noticed this too lickszz,
very convenient!!
Would YOU buy a second hand car from Ferguson?:suspect:
AND...
whats the problem.
The gaffer wants a full strength squad in the league.
I dont see a problem with it.
So, you think it's a load of rubbish also then? There must be some kind of problem with it or the real reason would be disclosed instead of this injury rubbish.

Until clubs (who pay the players' wages, after all) start getting proper compensation for players who get injured while on international duty, i have every sympathy with Ferguson pulling his players out when they're slightly doubtful.
Its a tricky one this - my first reaction was to say, 'well thats man u all over aint it, cheating scum'. I think clubs have a vested interest in protecting thier key players (if Jags was badly injured playing for U21s I would be too happy) much more than before - we all know how much a couple of places can cost a team financially - never mind Europe qual or promotion. Having said that we have to face the fact that playing for your country doesnt seem to be the height of players career anymore, some of them Im sure would rather not risk thier over inflated salary.
At the minute, the Man Utd have gotta win the league and everything else were in to win.
England comes 2nd- sorry to say that, but the league comes first and stupid friendlies.. say no more.
Ousetunes 09-02-2005, 10:04 Yup, it's all down to money isn't it? League position = cash and at the top end of the Premier League you are talking big dosh. So, in that respect I can understand managers and players not wishing to partake in Internationals, particularly those matches deemed pointless.
On the other hand, I feel there's arrogance involved here. These players (and possibly managers) think 'Stuff that, I'm not getting injured playing in this pointless friendly - so why should I? I'll be 'injured' instead'. I think this is wrong and shows a lack of respect in playing for your country - whether it be a World Cup semi-final or a run out against Moldova.
Thus, any player who is unavailable for an International match should also be made to sit-out their club's next two domestic matches. And, they should be informed that they will not a be an automatic choice for International selection next time.
That'd soon have them running after their mummies (or agents at least!).

Lets just stop with all the publicity seeking friendlies for Nike and Adidas and so forth.. they are **** matches to watch and participate in.. why not stop the friendlies all together in the latter parts of the season. MU need all our players fresh and not injured at the moment.. so england does come 2nd there.

I would have thought that every team needs their players on top form.
To play for your country I imagine would be on any pro footballers thing to do list ?

That is true.. it is a dream to play for your county, but these pointless friendlies.. I really dont think any of the Man Utd lads could be arsed quite frank this week.
They have got big games coming up- and we need to get the title back- so we dont need pointless friendlies.
