Is there anywhere in or around Sheffield where under 17 teenagers can learn/experience driving?? Didn't Norton aerodrome do it years ago? I have driven past but it seems abandoned now.

Any help appreciated.

Cant help with any new places, but norton (lightwood lane) has closed down and is now a building site for a new development.

Yes I would like to find a bit of land where youngsters can have a go at driving, my dad took me to norton aerodrome as a kid and I loved it!!
Also, we went to the land at the bottom of Twentywell lane (now a building site) but the council closed all these places.
I would be happy to pay a landowner/farmer to use a bit of land to teach my lads to drive safely and let them get familiar with the controls before spending on lessons.

So...... if you have a bit of land that would be suitable, get in touch

There is a thread every few months asking about it. It is always confirmed as closed.

The Sheffield Wednesday car park in Hillsborough Park seems to have become quite popular with teenage "drivers" recently. I think that may count as private land, as the public are regularly refused access by SWFC car park attendants. Maybe you could ask the owls for permission to use the car park for driving practice?
