is it possible to download microsoft word 4.5 direct from ne, or do i need a disc.

You need a disc.

Best bet would be to look on Ebay or visit computer fairs, ub fact there's a computer fair down at Don Valley this weekend, it's on till 3 PM today.

Not necessarily.

If you do not have MS Word but want to read and/or print (no editing or writing) Word documents, you can download MS Word Viewer quite legitimately for free from a MS Website.

Some older MS programs, such as Windows 1.0 off the top of my head, are completely legally free to download as MS has stopped supporting them, or something similar. So downloading any program like word isn't piracy.

I'd also go for the latest OpenOffice release, the best by far and for the price, astounding.
