Hi Everyone.

We are wanting to move to Sheffield area, and have seen a property in Wharncliffe Side that we really like but we are not familiar with the area, just wanted some advice as to what the area is like, schools, etc.

We currently live in Conisbrough, near Doncaster, I know Central Sheffield as I went to Uni there, and my sister lives off Eccleshall Road. We don't want to live in the city centre though, we like adventures and I am assuming looking at the map Wharncliffe Side has access to open countryside??

Any advice, no matter how small is gratefully received.

Ta very much ;o)))

I had an ex who lived at Wharncliffe Side (dont ask!). Seems like a nice place but i think its a bit dodgy in areas at night. There is plenty of open countryside nearby, but i cant comment on the schools. Deepcar/Stocksbridge (about another 3-4 miles down the road) is better for countryside, and the schools are pertty good, and most of the houses are fairly cheep. It is quiet here too (mostly). But for both Wharncliffe Side and Deepcar/Stocksbridge you'd better own a car because the transport is shocking!

Let me know if this helps?

A =)

Thanks it does help. I know Stocksbridge, well the High School anyway, my nephew goes there. We have been looking in those areas too, but Wharncliffe Side was a new one on us, we had to get the A-Z out! Guess what.........not on the A-Z of sheffield!
Guess me and the fella best take a drive to sniff out the potential!

If anyone else can offer any pearls of wisdom......??
Thanks again! :o)))
