The FA are considering a mid-week FA cup final next season. This is because Eriksonn wants the season to end conclude on 14th May so that England can have a few weeks preparation for the World cup.
I think it may be in the interest of England to keep the Premierships going for as long as possible seen as most of the players from other nations will be more likely to be playing the games. :hihi:
On a serious note, some regard moving the FA cup to a weekday as a crime as it's a traditional Saturday game.
i saw something on a betting site about FA cup being 8-1 of not being on a Saturday, disgrace!!
Yes, I shall agree with that. IMO it needs to be kept as a Saturday fixture.
How dare he! Can you imagine the sickies pulled on a weekday if the final was moved to Wedneday afternoon? I can't imagine a midweek afternoon game at all, keep it as it is!

what the hell does he know? he cant even play players where they're supposed to, and then looks bewildered as to why they played crap!
muppet.
Absolutely crazy ! What a stupid idea.
I'd like to see the FA Cup final stay on a Saturday too. I've added my name to the petition
The good news is that the FA cup will remain on a Saturday. Sven has managed to get his way ans secure a 4 week preparation plan for his players. The FA cup will now be played a week earlier in order to close the premiership season down a week early.
Apparently, any teams that are in the Uefa or Champions league would not have to play a fifth or sixth round replay in the FA cup, those games would be decided on the night via a penalty shoot out. This is a one season arrangement.
There is no mention of how the premiership is going to finish a week early, the only thing I can think is possibly extra midweek games or start a week early.

Yeah I'm sure a 4 week break will guarantee us winning the world cup.
Just like Manchester united going and playing in the world club championship guaranteed us getting the world cup in 2006.
But at least its still going to be on a Saturday, so at least they should be applauded for that.
Our best chance of wining the world cup is getting a manager who has some comprehension of playng people in the right position and not always picking his best mates - but thats another debate!

It is another debate, but I agree. Sven needs replacing.
The other point on this is that, England haven't enen secured qualification for the world cup yet. The FA would look pretty stupid moving the FA cup for world cup preparations if they fail to qualify.
