Oh dear :shakes: Only in America

And they wonder why some people have a problem with them!

That is pathetic.

The woman should be ashamed, and the judge should really have ticked the girls off for being out late, awarded $1 damages, and maybe even ordered the woman to pay costs....:)

Had the girls gone out and got in to trouble these would be the people saying 'Why didn't they stay home and do something useful....like bake cookies....'

Barking mad.

Joe

Shameful.:shakes: but let's not forget that GB usually follows the USA, so wait for one of our smart arsed lawyers to try it on real soon.

10:30 is late for 17/18 year old girls? =\ what the ***** do they do in america? at 18 here you can go out to freekin night clubs, be crawling in the house at 3am! lol

come on, that has got to be one of the stupidist things I've ever read... a 50 year old woman sueing some teens because they baked her cookies? its not like they was playing knock a door run :P they left presants!

Let's hope the old bat needs help from a neighbour some time in the near future, knocks on their door at 10:45 pm and gets sued.

Must be a laugh a minute for trick or treaters and carol singers on her street!

Very shady

Did the woman eat the cookies, they could have been spiked, and that could have caused the anxiety.

Have a nice night.

Could be a trick question.

I think this could only happen in America because I can't imagine kids acting so thoughtfully here. Certainly not staying away from a party with alcohol either!

 I read that last night. Comical. I especially like the line:

"The Denver Post newspaper reported on Friday that the girls had decided to stay home and bake the cookies rather than go to a dance where there might be cursing and drinking."

Souns like the parents threw that last line in for the kids.

Sad to say there are people around like this nasty lady.

If this woman had lived in the neighborhood I grew up in...well, let's just say that she would find sugar in her gas tank, firecrackers in her mailbox, and flaming bags of dog poo on her front porch.

And thanks to those handy change of address forms down at the post office, she might also find that her mail is now being sent to Tallahassee, Florida.

You can sue someone in small claims court for up to $5000. All it costs is a few dollars for the paperwork. And many people (probably this woman) claim they can't even afford that, so they waive the fees.

The old cow is just looking for money, and she should be ashamed of herself.

she was awarded medical costs...sounds fair enough to me if the two girls caused the medical ailment even if it was accidental?. Medical treatment isnt free in the usa you know...
