I'm not keen on the Ipod earbuds either.
I'm happy with my Sennheiser MX500s though. Good bass and quality considering they are at the lower end of the market (about £15)

EDIT: Oops. I just realised you wanted suggestions for Headphones ... I'll get me coat...

headphones for walking around in? :?

what you need mate is some Sony EX71's... about £25 from amazon.co.uk... I got some the other week for my Rio Karma and the sound quality is MINT!

they're canal phones, so they go into your ear canal, feels a bit weird at first, but once your loving the sound you'll soon forget about it, and good thing is it blocks out a fair bit of external sound ;)

if you've tons of cash to throw out, I'd suggest some Shure E2's or E3's... they're like the most expensive canal phones, but apperently their expense is due to their amazing quality, the E3's are nearly noise canceling and the quality of sound is second to none... but your talking about £100 for a pair of those :?

If you are wanting to sell them earphones- I would be quite happy to take them off your hands.

Shoot us a PM if you want to sell them.
Cheers.

I second the EX-71s, I use them with my iPod and they're great.

I would recommend these too, you can pick them up new off ebay for just over a tenner too.

I definately, for the want of a better word, 'third' the EX-71's..

You're pretty much isolated from the world with them plugged in. And, due to that, you can appreciate the bass they kick out- and it does kick. I continue to be impressed, daily.

35.99 on the high street but I found them at http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/ for 25.99.

Recently hooked them up to my nokia 6230's mp3 player with a modified cable off ebay (see link if interested).. so I only have to carry one device these days. My 1GB multi media card holds about 20 (60-70MB) albums.. cant wait for a 2 or 4GB MMC, when available. Who needs iPod?!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6356363399&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

By the way, its says on the box the cord is 1m- it is, in fact, 2 x 0.5m lengths with a male/female connector between them. The connectors very lightweight but because the wire dropping to your music player is from the left ear its slightly biased to pulling on the left- a minor critism tho..

Oh yes- and if its an issue, you can get EX-71's in white too!!

Hope this helps,
Dave:thumbsup:

I use Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones and they're really good not only when I use them with my iPod but fantastic for the on the plane too where they cancel out the noise of the jets completely.
